Went on a dinner with friends without any expectations and were pleasently surprised, because the food was definitely special and worth of every bite. The chef is trying to find some new combinations and mostlly succesfull!

Our very good friends invited us to dinner in the evening - we haven't seen each other in about 8 years! Rarely do we have the opportunity to truly enjoy beautiful and time-coordinated food served - because we often miss "... that..certain ... something ..."....And we found it here: authenticity, openness, communicativeness - all of course on the basis of politeness, kindness, pleasant "jokes" (:)) and respectful unobtrusiveness! A big "THANK YOU" to our friends for the invitation that we could enjoy together and that we also met Aleš and Mateja.More
Sitting on a castle garden, by spotless white tables, listening to the sound of the birds alone is worth visiting. Additionally, the seafood, prepared by the chef Polonca and served by Ales, who is also cook and knows very detailed, how the food is prepared,...is great. Enjoyed our dinner very much.More
The visit to the castle was enlightening. A visit to the restaurant lead by the chef Aleš Šibav was out of this World. After travelling the World many times and presented many reviews I am pleased to say that the Castle Restaurant is one of...the best eateries I have ever been. We (my spouse and I) decided on the lunch after the visit to the castle. My wife has dietary problems which we presented to the chef Aleš. The result on a very hot day was astounding. Excellent beef soup with home made noodles followed by the best steak tartar I have ever tasted. Prime Angus beef steak transformed into a culinary marvel. Not minced but chopped with knife and chef's own hand. Just the right consistency of spices and salt. All of that on great hot slices of freshly baked bread and a tossed salad. All of that accompanied by superb bottle of Cabernet-Sauvignon vintage 2017 from one of the regional wine makers Danilo Marvič. Total cost with good espresso coffee EUR 64 in total.More
The place has nice atmosphere, specially if you love old houses, in this case, small castle. :) Staff - friendly, but a little bit slow. Food looks nice, but the taste is actually very average. I missed more flavors, spices. Do not recommend for culinary...food experience searchers. Maybe for ordinary weekend family lunch. Toilet area could also use some upgrades.More
As I started in the title, it is not just a meal in the restaurant. Why? Because of the castle and the atosphere, super cool and friendly personal, delicious seassonal food and wine from the Vipava valley region of course. Aleš is a superhost, he...is your guide through the experience. Go there, take it easy and enjoy!More
This was a local recommendation from a winery we visited. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our waiter was friendly and spoke good English. Pretty views from the outside covered porch.
I may be a bit subjective, having an emotional attachment to this amazing castle with its old, stone, ivy covered walls, but I would still strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fine dining. The owner brought my dog a bowl of water, the...waiter was both accomodating and professional, the food was so tasty that every bite was a treat, altogether making my mother's birthday an event to remember.More
We have visited Grad Kromberk restaurant on the weekend after Valentine's day and they were still serving Valentine's day menu. However, we did some slight modifications of the menu and the personnel was really friendly and had no issues about that at all, in fact...they encourage the guests to specify their wishes and then simply "go with the flow". All of the 5 courses were delicious, the chef(s) really know how to get the best out of the different ingredients and how to combine the tastes - simply astonishing, highly recommended and a must visit if you are in Nova Gorica or nearby.More

I visited restaurant on Saturday afternoon. Restaurant was not very busy and I got nice table inside overlooking scenic surroundings of Goriška region. Service was very attentive and waiter was very friendly. I order taste menu with 7 coursers. Food was outstanding and very tasty....It is one of the best restaurants in this region and for sure best one in Nova Gorica. I strongly recommend visit and is my preferred choice in this region.More
Wonderful restaurant with excelent castle atmosphere. Chef Aleš always surprises you with excellent food and wine, special deserts and a nice chat. Strongly raccomended.
The chef of this place is a mechanic/engineer by training. He ended up in the kitchen by accident one day, and the rest is history. He found his true calling for sure. Some of our most memorable meals have been here. An absolute must.
This is a very nice restaurant. The cuisine is excellent, dishes always prepared witf fresh ingredients. It' s a speciwl kind of place for special occasions.
We visited with my wife, and my older son. The place is special, is has the renaissance feeling.... massive wall and quiet. The service is slow, but the food is made with the heart- lamb chops were really good.
