Great place to sit and enjoy your meal. Curry is AMAZING, recommending to take a fish option - coming with delicious grilled fish. Owners are extremely friendly and dedicated. It’s amazing to watch how they grow - we are going there for dinners year after...year :)More

I take cooking classes all around the world. The lesson at Shirani Home was not the most hands on I’ve had, but it was the most jamb packed with information. I took 3 pages of notes on the 7 recipes we made. I appreciated not...having to waste time chopping the 50 cloves of garlic we used! The food was amazing. These are local recipes, made in a daily way with no frills. It was like watching my mom put dishes together from memory as a small kid- only this time I got more understanding of what was going on thanks to the explanation given. Ask when you book and you can get fresh blended spices to take home for a reasonable fee.More

Excellent authentic curry in a home style restaurant. I am Sri Lankan and it is a great location to experience local cuisine and reasonably priced

Great local, organic, reasonably priced, good service and generous portions. No alcohol sold here FYI.

I ordered a vegetarian curry which was very tasty. My boyfriend had noodles that were nothing better than “eatable”. The main problem however was the service, which was best described as horrible. Cheap food, and the curry is tasty. If all you’re looking for is...tasty curry and horrible service this is the place.More

I have spent the last 3 winters in Sri Lanka & this is still the best curry I have found. The owner is incredibly welcoming, the food is great & the restaurant is comfortable. I highly recommend for anyone travelling in the area to go!

We ate here every second lunchtime. The rice and curry is so delicious, the vegetables vary depending on what is in season and the service is very good. A family run restaurant where you don’t have to wait long for your meal and very good...prices. The juices are a big size and made with pure fruit not diluted. The owners Lala and Shirani are great to chat to if you need any help on your trip. I highly recommend to visit ! 🥘 🍴 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️More

Visited Shirani with some friends after reading the great reviews on TripAdvisor. This shows to never ever entirely trust TripAdvisor when choosing. The food was actually the most tasteless we ever tried on the island during 16 days in different location. We tried the curry...and also the noodles and both equally terrible. The second “dot” in the grade was for the owners heat personality and that saved the food experience from a one “dot” experience.More

Shirani House is located on a side road off the main road. The place is clean and charming, with a peaceful ambience and friendly service. The food is amazing! Upon ordering a main, you are given complimentary vegetable dishes as accompaniment.I had the best tabouleh...and long beans. For meat curries, you would have to inform them in advance for them to prepare. This means everything is cooked fresh and they don't have days old curries sitting there to be reheated. The juices were cold and refreshing, and complimented the Sri Lankan weather. A must-try!!More
