Stopped by for a gin and tonic in the gardens. This is a nice quiet country cabin that serves as Resturant, coffee shop, meeting place and post office

The food is amazing. Very fresh and bursting with flavour. The steak was perfection and the fish delectable. Cape chestnut has a very friendly and helpful staff and feels very homely.

Wooden clapper board house set in a large garden. We got there by googlemaps or else I'm not sure we'd have seen the rather small sign post. Their daily specials are wide ranging from chicken noodle salad, ham and cheese toastie and leek and bacon soup. I had fish cakes with veggies which was a generous portion of three fishcakes... After a very disappointing lunch in Trout Tree we tried here next. Good homely food with cold beer and good service. Would recommend.

During a recent visit to Nanyuki we visited the Cape Chestnut several times. The Restaurant has a beautiful shaded setting near downtown and the Cottage Hospital. After a morning in the hurly burly of the market, this was a wonderfully calm spot for lunch. The menu changes daily which keeps things interesting. One on of the lunch visits I had... More

Very nice lunch on the deck with friends. Small western style menu with six good selections. Enjoyed samosas as an appetizer followed by the choices of fish, steak or smoked meat sandwich. Pleasant and casual atmosphere.

Set in beautiful surroundings. The food is of a high standard small but good selection. Art work on the walls can be purchased. There is a play area for children. Food can be elated in the garden or inside. Lovely setting.exellent value.

Whenever I travel to Nanyuki, my first "destination" on my itinerary is Cape Chestnut for lunch. Menu...well they do not have a printed menu. A blackboard is used to announce the daily lunch menu. I have always been happy on all the occasions I have been.
