This was our third and the best time at the Trout Tree restaurant.
It was always nice but the first two times we didn’t have opportunity to eat the trout.
We booked only an hour in advance on our way back to Nairobi. We were...running late without knowing that the restaurant was closing at 4:30pm.
When we reached there, it was already 4pm but the manager and the staff were very welcoming and nice without showing that they were annoyed with us coming that late.
We got our food very quickly and it wasn’t rushed. All was nice, delicious and fresh.
Quality meals, beautiful views, clean and well organized with lovely and happy staff working there.
We also bought some fresh trout to take it home with us.
This place is a must stop if you’re around this area.More
If you would look for a place to have lunch on the way to and from Nanyuki, no other than the Trout tree restaurant. It's 15mins drive from the Equator Nanyuki.
On arrival, you're welcomed and directed to your preferred seat. You make your order of...trout fish which would be cooked depending on your preffered mode. Remember these are fresh fish from the ponds.
In few minutes your food is ready. Within the restaurant forested compound there are the rare black and white Colobus monkeys.
I would highly recommend the restaurant for the great service.More
It’d been more than 10 years since my last visit, but the place did not disappoint. Always a great stopover for lunch and the trout meal was delicious. Great to see them also now selling fish to the neighborhood, a great value-add.
Had a sumptuous lunch of Trout Fish at The Trout Tree Restaurant. The restaurant is built around a 100+ year old Fig Tree with plenty of colobus monkeys around. The restaurant breeds fish in small ponds. Upon order they pull out the fish and grill...on charcoal, serving with garlic butter and lime.
A not to miss place if you are on your way from Nairobi to Samburu.More
