We had an absolutely lovely dinner on their patio. They did not open until 5pm when we went on a weekday late afternoon. Their wine menu is extensive & we enjoyed several glasses at reasonable prices for the area - $15-$18. Bread, caesar's salads & dinner of pastas. The little purse pastas of cheese and pear with brown butter were delicious. The other pasta dish of pesto and cheese was also exceptional. Our server was attentive & friendly, as were the other staff members.

We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary, which they knew in advance. We had a beautiful table outside with a view of the mountain and we ordered their signature beef, buffalo and elk meatloaf. It was absolutely delicious, and a large portion too!
The best part was that the chef (Jeremy) made a custom order strawberry and rhubarb pie that was in the shape of a huge tart. It had a sparkly candle and happy anniversary note. Many thanks to the chef for making this extra effort, it was so tasty and made the night extra nice.
This special kind of service is what makes this restaurant so great, in addition to the friendly professional service and great menu. Highly recommended it!!

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant on the main street in Springdale. The service was just right and restaurant has a menu that has unique preparations. Menu would typically be found in more formal restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

My husband and I made reservations at the Spotted Dog several weeks before we arrived at Zion relying on several reviews. The view and servers were great. The food was almost inedible. The warm Brie appetizer was covered with jarred orange marmalade and some dried cherries. It was the best dish we had.
My husband ordered the special rack of lamb. The lamb was charred on the outside and pink on the inside and cold. It had obviously been cook hours (perhaps a day ahead) and warmed just before serving. The vegetables were cold and very under cooked. The plate was so small, it was really difficult to cut the meat without it spilling onto the table. I ordered the lamb shank which should be braised for several hours and literally be “falling off the bone”. It was undercooked and I had to saw through the meat in order to get anything to eat. I understand we are in the middle of a National park, and the pickings are slim. This place got rave reviews, but the food was horrid.
Why I rarely write reviews, I would think again before spending our hard earned $$s at this restaurant.

Not kid/teen friendly. My 14 year old and I ate this restaurant on 6/28/22 - We were seated in the back of the restaurant and had a wonderful view - a deer was even standing outside our window for a short duration. The food was excellent. We ordered the Brie and chutney for an appetizer. I had the meatloaf and my son ordered the kids cheeseburger for dinner, I highly recommend the meatloaf. The two star rating is due to the attitude of our waiter - Josh who was not teen friendly. My son has a stomach disorder and so for vacation he was sticking to items that were on his safe list. I called the restaurant prior to make sure he could order the cheeseburger since it was ONLY on the kids menu and they assured me it was. Josh laughed at my son when he ordered it and then proceeded to intentionally embarrass him by bringing him crayons to our table. We told Josh that we don't require crayons and he said well I am leaving them here anyway. I told my son we could leave but he said we don’t need to have this guy ruin our dinner. Please train your staff appropriately. I believe Josh was upset due to the low cost of my sons menu choice or he was just being insensitive. I could only imagine how he may have treated a child with a more severe disability.

We wholeheartedly apologize that your service was less than respectful. Josh works with the youth directly as his main occupation and his techniques can oftentimes come across as somewhat callous, yet highly effective. While his techniques may seem harsh, he has had tremendous results in mentoring the youth. Regardless, he could have been more sensitive in his approach as he made sure that your son's important dietary needs were met. Our guests' safety is our number one priority and this should not come at the cost of any of our guests being uncomfortable. Our sincerest apologies. We are happy to hear that almost a year after your visit to us, you remembered our offerings being wonderful, and also remembered your servers name. The Spotted Dog is a special restaurant. The space is lovely; we were place at a table near a warming fire. Our waiter Kohl did an excellent job of looking after us. My wife disliked the glass of wine she had ordered, and he immediately took it off our bill. The bottle of wine I ordered was superb, and we both savored it. Food was well-prepared and quite tasty. She has the grilled trout and I had the smoked short ribs. Both were wonderful. It was a special evening, and we will return upon our next visit to Zion.

A more chic restaurant with quality service
On the other hand, although the dishes are rather well made and good, the prices are a little prohibitive
For example, charging almost 40 dollars for a pasta dish is exaggerated.

The restaurant had a very rustic, eclectic ambiance we weren’t expecting based on the name, but was it was very nice. As the pictures of the dishes in their pictures suggest this restaurant is more upscale in its dining experience, and they have an impressive wine list. The hosts were very courteous, kind, and prompt. Our server Michael was very nice and attentive, and had a good conversation with him during our meal. Our cocktails were excellent as well, and very affordable. Overall it was an excellent experience, and definitely recommend or patronize again.

Disappointing experience at Spotted Dog restaurant. I wasn’t feeling well and requested a plate of plain pasta for dinner. When the bill arrived we were charged $18 for the plain pasta. That seems a bit over priced. In addition the staff were rude about keeping my husband’s food warm while he stepped out for a few minutes. Lastly when we commented to the manager about our frustrations he was defensive instead if expressing good customer relations.

Not only was the food and service perfect, but our waitress spoke with the chef before we ordered to ensure that the dish I wanted was gluten and dairy free. I look forward to coming back! Go a little early, as they get busy.

We take our guest's health and diets very seriously. As people become more conscious and aware of what works and doesn't work for their lifestyle, we decided it was important for us to expand our minds and our menu to accommodate their needs. We have made sweeping changes across our menu to be more inclusive of gluten-free diets, as well as vegetarian and vegan diets. We believe everyone deserves a well-prepared, meaningful meal after a wonderful day exploring the mountains and beauty of Zion, regardless of their dietary needs.

I had an excellent dinner sized Gorgonzola salad with a side of wild rice, and my spouse had spaghetti and meatballs which was good. Spouse also would have had a glass of red wine with dinner, but did not because they advertised only 5 ounce glasses. She felt they should be 6 ounces. Instead we had martinis. We enjoyed the meal and would eat here again if we ever return “to these parts unknown”.

Overpriced and we found much better food elsewhere. $40 steak was over cooked and barely edible. Cocktails were skimpy with glasses half full. Service was good and friendly but had been expecting much better food. Not worth it in my opinion.

We apologize that we did not live up to our reputation and your expectations. It is unfortunate when a steak is overcooked, which is why we ALWAYS ask our guests if their steak is prepared to the correct temperature and offer to recook or remake the dish or find something else that is more enjoyable for our guests. Somehow this step was either not followed by our decerning waitstaff or was not given a truthful reply which would have been resolved quickly. Regardless, you were left unhappy, and for that, we extend our apologies. Unfortunately, this was not solved while you were in our care, and a poor review was written in place of seeing the lengths our team goes to make sure each of our guests has a memorable (and favorable) dining experience.

My teenage son really wanted have dinner here, he thought that the name of the restaurant was cute, and although we had been riding bikes all day, weren't dressed in fancy clothes nor had a reservation- we got there right when they opened for dinner and were seated right away. We opted to enjoy the patio, which was very inviting, relaxing and had a great view. Ramiro was our server and Codey his assistant for dinner. My only disappointment was that we were not offered additional water once we drank our first bottle but that was it.
Ramiro was very informative about the menu and helpful when asked for his opinion between two different meal choices. I'm gf/df and had no issue finding quite a few options to choose from. Of note, they also have a very nice wine list. Since my son is only 13 y/o, I was able to order a half bottle which was perfect for just me. Although I do not recall his name, the bartender that served my wine was very friendly and talkative as well.
My son ordered the Spaghetti with Meatballs and I got the Vegetable Forage with chicken. He said that he LOVED his meal and mine was very flavorful as well. I really enjoyed all of the different vegetables and fresh flavors of my dish. It was filling but not overly heavy.
We will definitely plan to come back for a meal on our next visit to Zion!

We went there for breakfast. It was an all you can eat breakfast buffet. Food was good with lots of variety. They were refilling everything with fresh food. Prices looked reasonable. Hostess and other servers were great. We were very happy until we saw our bill. We did not realize that coffee was not included and had to pay for it separately. We were told that juice is included but not coffee as not everyone drinks coffee. My recommendation would be for them to offer customers a choice between juice and coffee based on their preference. Also pay attention to your bill as gratuity may already be included. We did not realize that and paid again. Overall a good experience.

This a beautiful hotel in Zion and the food is superb, not to disappoint. We went for a private event " The Beaujolais dinner: I can't say enough it was 9 courses with different wines paired to taste. The staff was so attentive and the event was wonderful. The rooms are so comfortable and the scenery is fantastic.
