Poor value. Cold cold cold....had to eat in our coats! Ordered 3 meals - got 2!! Food goes cold within minutes of being served to the table. 'Seasonal vegetables ' = mushy broccoli - looked and tasted like frozen rather than fresh. I could go on but won't... you'll probably have got the gist of this review. Gardiner is just... More

We are vegetarians and when we travel, we are used to a little bit of struggle in finding variety of food. But This hotel blew our mind. Menu is very rich and offers lots of variety of Vegetarians. And that variety is equally matched with quality. Its simply YUMMY! As if this wasn't enough pricing is very very decent. To... More

We stayed one night at Mammoth Springs Hotel in cabin A8 (see my other review). Although we enjoyed the cabin, the food and service at the dining room was mediocre at best. We ate at the dining room the night of our arrival. My husband ordered smoked trout as an appetizer ($11.50) and the Bison steak ($29.95) for his entrée.... More

My wife and I ate in this dining room after viewing the Hot Springs area. We stood in line to order our food, and it was ready very quickly. The price was a wee bit high, but there is no competition for this eatery. We thought about ice cream after dinner, but the line for the ice cream was quite... More

Had the gourmet grilled cheese--good flavor and amount of cheese. Hubby had the burger--very tasty. Waiter was inexperienced and had trouble with our order. We never got the soup we ordered. I can see the chef is doing a nice job with food. I'd guess much of their staff are foreign students.

A more formal stop to grab a bite to eat. The elk are often dining on the grass out front. Food and service okay, but the location makes it great.

Lunch, Aug 2, 2016 A welcome respite after hiking around Mammoth Hot Springs. Good burgers, salad and iced tea. Large restaurant with a wall of windows looking out across the headquarters area of Yellowstone. More upscale decor than we would have preferred within the natural surroundings. Prices were high, but that is true of all restaurants throughout the park. We... More

We had eaten at other dining rooms throughout the park and loved them, so we were surprised by the quality of the Mammoth Springs Dining Room. We were expecting the prices, but the service was slow and the food was just okay, so not worth the expense. Wish we would have driven back to Gardiner for dinner.

They had a nice varied selection. I had the bison tacos (1 soft 1 hard shell). I would highly recommend them and while both were good, I preferred the soft (was a bit bigger) I will definitely get the soft shell bison taco again on my next visit.
