The staff was friendly and accommodating of our wishes to move inside when it got cold and to sit socially distanced from some friends. The atmosphere was nice and the noise level reasonable. The food was just so-so, though. We started with Caesar and baby...kale salads (both excellent), then had the grouper and rib eye (both just OK), with sides of Brussels sprouts (great) and wild mushrooms (no so great). The bill, including a glass of wine, was $158 before tip. It was worth checking out, but next time we'll stick with Patsy's.More

I'm sad that Ray's the Steaks closed in Arlington, so I was looking for another good steak house to fill the void. Hubby and I celebrated a late Valentine's dinner here the other night. Steaks were cooked as ordered. I like the atmosphere of a...tad more upscale than most GAR but not snobby. Service was excellent. I had the Filet and side Mac&Cheese. I would've preferred some peppercorn seasoning, but it didn't hinder my meal enjoyment. I wish they gave you warm Ozzie rolls (best buns is two doors down) but instead they gave us cold croissants. I would definitely return for a celebratory dinner or work function.More

It was Restaurant Week, but we've never had a better meal than the dish this upscale Great American restaurant served us as their $22 lunch. The scallops with tender and juicy, again the best we've had in Fairfax. Their lunch meal started with an amazing...lobster bisque, creamy and with a nice chunk of lobster meat. Our dessert was an outstanding chocolate cake -- so rich that we couldn't eat it all. Brought the scraps home for a second dessert. All were served with flair in a restaurant that we challenge others to duplicate. We'll be heading back.More

Went here for a special occasion and it was terrific. The food outstanding, the service excellent. Our table had the grouper special, prime rib and filet mignon/lobster roll with a couple of sides to share. Large portions, particularly the prime rib, and yummy. Its expensive...but worth every penny, they don't rush you and your meal, plus the ambiance, is as close to perfect as I've had in a long time.More

We wanted to try Randy’s because it is fairly new. We weren’t disappointed. The salads were creative and finished by all. Most of us had steak which was very good and cooked the way we ordered them. Sides consisting of mushrooms and potatoes were delicious...and finished by the end of the meal. THE BEST CAME LAST! We ordered vanilla ice cream and it was served with a tower filled desert fixings of hot fudge sauce, nuts, brownies and whipped cream. There were about 15 toppings in all. The fun was to share all toppings before the ice cream ran out. Outstanding salad, outstanding steak, outstanding sides finished off with a creative desert offering. What more can one ask for? All agreed “We’ll be back”. Bill B.,Oakton, Va.More

We went last night after hearing about the restaurant from the executive chef! The food was phenomenal. The prime rib was juicy and flavorful! The crab and lobster cake was jumbo lump. I highly recommend ordering. Their Chop salad appetizer is a must as well...as the tuna tartare. The waiters were very professional and knowledgeable about the food. We had a fabulous fun time. It is great for families business meetings or a romantic night out. And you can’t go wrong with getting the chocolate cake at the end.More

I am a great fan of the GAR and have been to all except Randy's. To correct that went there for dinner last night. Service is great, food is well prepared but strange. I had a New York strip, the loaded mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts...and corn brulee'. All the sides are loaded with bacon and taste too sweet. The loaded mashed potatoes were too runny and I would not order them again. Too bad they don't have a baked potato and a nice cesar salad to go with the steak. I can go to Artie's and eat better for less. Will not return to Randy's..More

Needed to see what all the buzz was about. Very nice setting. GAR selected their best staff from their various restaurants. We recognized our manager from the Coastal Flats in Tysons. Excellent service and excellent food; up to snuff with the consistency of the other...GAR restaurants, but slightly different flair. Cocktails $13, $14; Calamari D $18; 2 prim rib eyes $96 for both, sides $10-14. A little to expensive. Our bill with tip totaled $254. We occasionally spend that much or more at other places. Just thought it was a bit over the top.More

We flew in from out of state to help my daughter move into her new home. She rewarded us by taking us out for Saturday night dinner at Randy's. GREAT CHOICE! My wine was Cabernet sauvignon. For appetizers we had lobster bisque and fried calamari....Both were delicious for the 4 of us. My entree was the prime filet mignon medium. It was tender and juicy and flavorful. My side order was loaded mashed potatoes. We also had parmesan truffle fries and broccoli. This is a great restaurant to try for a special night out. Our server was Alex. He was very efficient and he had assistant servers.More
