Situated in an underwhelming street mall that you could easily miss, sits this hidden jewel of ethnic cuisine! We stopped, intrigued about west African food and encourage by the excellent reviews: Teranga doesn't disappoint. The menu is mainly Senegalese but has a few really good Jamaican favorites. The lady in the front was very helpful and patient at explaining the menu and suggesting favorites. There weren't many patrons when we came in but we chose to stay for our meal. The place got packed with folks mostly picking up to go. We felt comfortable with the cleanliness and distancing of the booths. I am just very happy to find food from places like Senegal. We definitely like the diversity in the gastronomy of our city and Teranga is a great addition. We had the Lamb but later a senegalese lady I met said to have the marinated chicken so I can't wait to get back to try it. The drinks are traditional juices and they are an excellent accompaniment for the beignets. My son had the seneburger! a tasty take on a classic You can't buy ingredients here, but just next door there is a store with african goods in case you want to give it a go to cook something for yourself later

If you're looking for inexpensive and unusual food, you'll get it here. You order at the counter and they deliver to your table. I had the grilled lamp. The meat was thinly sliced with pieces of bone and fat--actually, it seemed more like goat than lamb. It was a bit tough, but well spiced (not hot--just lots of spices). There was a big pile of it. Greens were good and the salad was okay. My friends had the grilled tilapia--a whole fish, skin, bones and all (you could have the head, too if you want it). They said it was tasty, though it looked hard to eat.

Not much of an ambience, so probably better for carry-out. Ordered the grilled lamb and the goat curry. The goat curry was excellent, but the lamb was way over-cooked. The service was good and attentive.

This is the second time I have enjoyed Teranga while visiting Cincy. They have a traditional selection of Senegalese dishes and some Jamaican ones (ox-tail and jerk chicken). I have had Mafé and most recently Domoda Yap. Both are excellent and large portions. By myself I asked for a half-order of rice because I don't want to waste food, and there are no African kids (because we're not in Africa) to finish leftovers. Service is unusually fast. First visit I spoke with one of the women who informed me that her uncle owns Yassa restaurant in Chicago where I had eaten before. No other restaurant in Cincy will ever be considered by me; I'll choose Teranga every time. This place serves Halal meat.

New food to try and taste and great portions. It had a nice family friendly atmosphere with a clean environment. I also did not see a kids menu but we easily shared with our son.

I lived in New York and ate Senegalese food. Was very happy to move to Cincinnati and find a comparable restaurant.

My parents live in Cincinnati and my dad introduced me to this restaurant about 5 years ago on a visit. Since then, I come to this restaurant at least once whenever I visit. The food is always very delicious and the portions are large. I have noticed changes over the years, but nothing bad. I have only gone for lunch and normally called ahead to place my order since there was a wait for your food to be ready. In the past, they only had certain offerings in certain days. The brown rice was not always available, but when it was, it was delicious. They used to only have a certain style of lamb, fish and/or chicken on a particular day, as well. However, last time I visited, which was about a year ago, they seemed to have the entire menu available and food was already prepared so it was not necessary to call ahead or wait for awhile. I've had lamb in some sort of peanut sauce, which was awesome; grille fish in a delicious mustard onion sauce which was amazing and chicken. I've had other entrees but those really stand out. I've never tried the sandwiches, but they look tasty, too. The last time I was there I had ginger juice. It was refreshing and spicy all in one. This hidden gem is one of the best restaurants in Cincinnati!

The chicken is ALWAYS moist and tender. I usually order the chicken brochette or grilled lamb. Both are delicious and full of flavor. I also get white rice and cabbage on the side. I love that they give you a half hard boiled egg with the sides. The meals are reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The staff are very friendly too.

Everything you want out of the small hole in the wall place: authentic, delicious, dingy, and swarming with foreign languages. Truly delicious Senegalese cuisine at $7/plate (enormous portions) and very delicious spicy ginger give for $2. I'm here at least every month.
