About
It is a concept of casual intimacy and communal romance.Sotto is the art of simplicity, a steward of restraint. It’s undressed, gutsy and human. It is fire, meat, wheat, and laughter.Above all, Sotto is Italian.

Thanks to Patrick for taking such great care of us tonight. The wine trio was an added bonus to our amazing dinner of lamb chops, salads, branzino, black truffle pasta, cacio e pepe, cavatelli, wonderful side dishes and desserts!! Also, they did a great job...with social distancing.More

This was my second visit and it was as good as I remembered. Portion sizes are perfect for sharing. We had toast with goat cheese and honey and insalada. We ordered 2 pastas and are glad we did because they were the highlight of the...meal. The cavatelli/braised beef and tortellini con zucca were a great pair because one was sweet/savory and the other salty/hearty. We finished with the breaded pork loin and broccolini. The broccolini was seasoned very heavily with pepper and too spicy for my husband. We ordered doughnuts for dessert which are a HUGE portion for 2 people (we took some home). They were very good but tasted more like funnel cake than traditional doughnuts. Everything inside was great. Here's my complaint... We had a 7:30 reservation and arrived early around 7:15 after valeting our car. After checking in (which is done outside), they tell you to wait outside until your table is ready. They have no accommodations and our car was already gone so we waited outside in the cold (it was in the 30's) for 15 minutes. I completely understand following capacity limitations for Covid but this could be handled in a much better way. I'd suggest an email or text at the time of reservation or at reminder asking for you to call and check in prior to exiting your vehicle so that you don't have to stand outside. OR, just put heaters outside for those waiting. Hopefully they figure out a better system soon as winter approaches.More

This is our second visit and it never disappoints. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere is so sexy and cool. We ordered the tuna appetizer and the charcuterie board and both were amazing!!!!! I had the black truffle pasta which may be the best...pasta dish I have ever had. We ordered a pork tenderloin for everyone to share and it was amazing. Next came dessert and oh my lord!! We ordered everything on the menu! The ricotta donuts were deeeeelish! I love this restaurant so much and we will visit it each time we visit Cincinnati!More

We decided to go eat after visiting the aquarium. My grandaughter loves italian so her and my daughter and I picked Sotto's to eat at. Oh my!! The inside was so quaint and our server Julia took wonderful care of us. She explained each course...and what the items were on the menu since they were in italian. We had a lovely meal. I truly savored every bite. I will be bringing my husband here to share the food with for our 31 year anniversary coming up soon. If you want fresh homemade italian, this is the place. CheersMore

Very popular restaurant for a good reason. Food and service both top notch. Trattoria type Italian. Fair prices. Reasonable spacing of tables. Get a reservation and enjoy.

My husband and I were blown away by the exceptional food and service at this restaurant. Our server made excellent suggestions for their Italian selection of wines. We ordered the panzanella for an appetizer. For an entree, I ordered the tortellini stuffed with cheese and...corn and topped with shaved truffles in a browned butter sauce. This was the most incredible combination of flavors I have ever experienced with a stuffed pasta. For dessert we ordered a combination of 3 sorbet flavors, very unique and delicious.More

We had dinner at Sotto and was very impressed. I felt like I was in Italy again. We shared 2 apps, 2 pastas and 2 entries between 4 of us. Every one of them was excellent! Highly recommend Sotto

A beautiful restaurant in the center of the city. Is in a basement so is a very proper Italian name with a very good Italian food. They have a list of wine that goes from 50 to 200 bucks. We ordered pasta Amatriciana and pasta...with Pomodoro sauce. They were great, a truth Italian flavor. The only annoyance was the bread, dry and burn. I will recommend to make a reservation it’s a busy place.More

This place is really cool. It’s in a basement, but a cool basement. Good place to go if you’re trying to impress someone. Beyond that, I ordered the pasta with cheese and pepper. It was literally just al dente spaghetti with a cream sauce with...a hefty amount of pepper...for $18. I could have made this at home. There was nothing special about it though I understand it’s homemade pasta. Maybe I’d be more impressed if I ordered differently, but I think all dishes on the menu should be worth their price.More

We had a no holds barred recruitment dinner tonight at Sotto. At 6 pm we ordered five courses of food. Fine wine, fine bourbon. The food was outstanding, well, at least the first three courses, because after 3 hours! the main “meat” course had yet...to arrive. This on a Monday night! We were in a semi private room, which made it difficult to get anyone’s attention. I am fine pouring my own water, but I can’t get myself another bourbon or bottle of wine. And even after ordering one, it took 30 minutes for the drinks to arrive after the first round. Our party started to break up before the porterhouse/pork loins etc. arrived because of the late hour. And by far most unforgivably, I had to leave before I could get the donuts!!! (Not only for myself (I recommend these as an appetizer, main course and dessert) but more difficult, not bringing some home to the wife and kids puts me in jeopardy of sleeping on the couch!) To be fair, this was the first time I’ve ever experienced poor service here, it is usually impeccable. But it was a bad night for bad service as we were trying to impress a new partner.More

I wouldn't say so. My wife and I wore nice casual clothes, and that was fine. Some people were wearing business dress, because we were there on a weekday.
