We always make a stop at Don Q whenever we come to Honolulu as I love this grocery store. It's so much more than just a grocery store! This is a Japanese/Hawaii store that sells everything from produce, meat/fish, alcohol, souvenirs (trinkets, cookies, chocolates), personal care products (including an organic section and local products), flip flops, t-shirts, poke bar, bread... You can reach this Japanese supermarket by walking about ten minutes to the north from Ala Moana Shopping Centre. It is probably the largest supermarket near the Waikiki Beach area as it takes no more than ten minutes by car. This supermarket used to be called "Holiday Mart" under the Japanese supermarket chain called "Daiei." But the parent company in... More

Average grocery store but gets extremely busy. Good mixture of grocery, fresh and variety lines. We split our shopping between here and Walmart which is just around the corner.

I always stop at Don Q when I go to Honolulu. Be sure to read the label carefully. This is Asia store, not everything is from Japan although it may look like it is.

A great Japanese department store with everything under its roof. I like their groceries as they have great bargains every week. Lots of visitors from Waikiki go there to shop for souvenirs – get on the #2 or #13 bus and ride back on same to Waikiki. Easy! Lots of Hawaiian specialty souvenirs, Hawaiian coffee of various brands and always... More

My place to shop for Japanese/American groceries. Don Quijote carries more variety of Japanese Asian products than any other stores at reasonable prices. If your looking for Hawaiian gifts, Macadamia chocolates or small kine stuff, come to Don Quijote.

Every trip to Honolulu begins with grocery shopping at Don Quijote. Every type of food is available. Their white bread is great for toasting and sandwiches and they often have the best prices for Mac nuts and Kona coffee.

We always stop at DonQ to get the best selection and prices for souvenirs to take home to the Mainland. (Aloha Stadium too). The selection here is even larger than what they have at WalMart and prices are comparable, if not cheaper on some things. Things may be a little crammed but there is SO much to look at and... More

Was staying near the mall and went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries. Very poor selection of produce. Followed the locals (and the plastic bags) to this unique store a block away from Wal-Mart. Great produce. Funky tourist stuff at the entry. Just wade through this part. You won't be disappointed. It is a big building, but it doesn't look... More
