I finally made it to this ramen shop. I had the Paitan Ramen. It was very rich & flavorful, but it was the noodles (japanese style) that made me give this place a 5 star. I like that it had a snap when you bite...More

Ordered the Paitan ramen combo (with fried rice and chicken kara-age). Chashu is delicious with lots of flavor - 2 pieces are not enough! The restaurant is not air conditioned although there is a big fan at the front sufficient for the small area (about...More

Delicious Kyoto-style ramen! I had Paitan Chashu Ramen. Their chashu is delicious! I should have asked for more green onion, but otherwise everything was so good! I usually get full before finishing a bowl of ramen, but this time I ate it all!

I chose my ramen to be soft and liked that better. The broth is worth leaving Waikiki for (just off McCully) and is located in a very busy mall. Their phone was not working when we called so don't let that put you off.

The title pretty much says it all. I have lived in Japan, and have been to well over a hundred ramen shops in the Fukuoka and Tokyo area. I crave ramen. I am addicted to ramen. Honolulu is fortunate to have a number of really...More

Came here for lunch. Had the char shiu shoyu ramen. Clean tasting ramen base. Not salty. The pork itself had flavor but just ok to me. The garlic chahan fries rice was on the wetter side for me. I really did like the deep fried...More

Tucked away in the second level if a small strip mall is a gem of a ramen place. The traditional broth with homemade char sui pork was wonderful. The noodles had plenty of bite & the pork just fell apart - give these folks a...More
