Was shopping in the area and dropped by for lunch on a Sunday. The spicy thai noodle was large but it did not taste authentic. The fruit juice was freshly squeezed and was the only thing that I found delicious. Service was average.

Somewhat hidden amongst the Kakaako towers but go find it. The best luncheon in a long time. Saturday just before 2 PM, place still packed and for a reason, superb food in a very pleasant place at reasonable prices with decent service. Inside too noisy,...sit outside. Nice breeze, but can be strong wind. Worth it. Lucked out, got a table soon. Delightful young local gal to bring water and take the order. (B+) Soup of the day, Italian Wedding Soup. Cup $ 4.50. Hard to describe, but excellent. A. Mixed Seafood Spaghetti, $19, Unreal. Big portion in nicely shaped bowl. Lots and lots (!) of different seafood (no skimping) good, long spaghetti, in a delicious cream sauce. Outstanding. Had to be the best value all around. A. Crab salad sandwich $15, Very tasty, juicy crabs on still crispy croissant. B+ White Wine Fish, $22, Choice of rice or salad. Superbly chosen Bassa (freshwater fish?) and superbly steamed. Flaky, just falling of your fork. In exquisite light wine sauce. The best fish I have had in a long time. Marvelous. A. Food server (a young fellow) B- Asked him for some more napkins (places are getting more and more chintzy.) That was visibly the weirdest request he has ever had. After some time brings a bunch of real el-cheapo white napkins, the kind you use to wipe tables. The only no-no during the whole superb experience. Dessert menu, limited. Lots of mousse cakes, about $7. Mango A, others not so good. No ice cream. All courses superbly presented. A most pleasant, tasty and valuable lunch. Be back? Yes!More

Panya started out as a pastry place and I loved going there for their pastries and coffee. Since then they have transitioned to a modern gathering place. Their food are decent and service is great. Annie (the owner) is very friendly and helpful in every...way. The place is not extremely big so you probably have to sit outside in the patio area if you have a big party. Definitely should try and make your decision from there.More

I was told their ox tail soup is good; however, overtime I go and call after work for an early dinner they always seem to "have run out"; I wonder if they ever intended to serve it for dinner; seems deceiving; food tends to be...over salted; tried the squid and it was tough as rubber and greasyMore

Enjoyed some pad thai on the patio, very tasty although I asked not to make it spicy. I was nervous it would have too much heat so they basically added none. Wish I would have added a little heat to it but that was totally...my fault. My husband had a chicken soup which he really enjoyed. The service was average. Everything went really well until we ordered dessert which took forever to get and all they had to do was get it out of the display case inside so not sure what the hold up was.More

$5 drinks and $5 appetizers in Honolulu? Who can pass on this? Multiple selections for drinks (including cocktails) and pupus (appetizers), including green apple, lychee and mango martinis and a variety of mojitos. Pupus include gyoza (4 pieces), crab crostini (3), chicken curry crostini (3),...fried wonton (6), chicken wings, tori karage (also a friend chicken), edamame. The spicy chicken wings aren't, but there's a good spicy kick in the chicken curry salad on the crostini. Service is decent, but if you're sitting outdoors you may need to flag servers once and a while as they seem to have a lot of tables to cover. Validated parking behind the building, but it gets very expensive if you go beyond 2.5 hours. BTW, the address is officially 1288 Ala Moana Blvd (Hokua building) although you turn onto Queen to get there.More

This is a very popular lunch and dinner restaurant at the base of Honolulu's most exclusive condo (Hokua) - so you can bet it has it's cost! I haven't eaten here for dinner but lunch is always busy. Either reserve ahead or best get yourself...there by 11:30 during week days. Expansive menu variety which spans from traditionals like Pad Thai to Grilled Salmon salad and most things in between. Unique and delicious dessert options as well. Excellent but expensive custom juices and $4.50 Illy's coffee. Full bar is also available with a range of premium liquors for those inclined. Nice option for interior and exterior seating. Dining in evening can be hot outside but they have roll-down shades to help comfort. Validated parking in the Hokua garage.More

Panya Cafe in Kakaako, The product Pastry's and Deserts look very enticing and clear visible wherever one sit in the Cafe inside, very smart! Since there is not much of a warm ambiance this perfectly serves it's purpose, congratulations. We just had Coffee $ 5.-...range that normally Hotels charge for, ok once. Service is up to par what would be expected for this type of establishment.More

The restaurant is clean and modern. Located at the Diamond Head (East) end of the Ward Complex, they do have their own garage so you avoid the sometimes difficult parking at Ward. The menu offered a reasonable variety of sandwiches, salads, and noodles, a mix...of Asian and Western. My Pad Thai was ok, the others enjoyed their sandwiches. The prices are definitely on the high side. For the price, I would go elsewhere unless you happen to be in the area.More

Panya Bistro is located on the second floor of the Ala Moana shopping center. (There is another location at 711 Queen). It offers a Thai/Japanese and bakery menu. Food was nothing special, and service was spotty, with 3 different people serving our table. Appetizers arrived...the same time as the main course... what were they thinking? Ordered the vege-burger (two stacked portobello mushrooms) and it was cold despite being cooked? on the grill. At least the french fries were good. We won't be coming back.More
