Absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The modern setting, friendly staff and most of all bomb food! Had the best meal of my life here! Everything was superb but the honey toast & ice cream hit home for me. Absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back.

This restaurant is always my favorite in Honolulu. Most of the dishes are very delicious. The most memorable one is the toast with ice cream. It taste super good and must try it!! the location is good since it is near Alamoana Shopping center. Takes like 5 mins walk only. The environment is very nice and it's like modern design.

Reviews of the unagi roll were spot-on, it was superb. And the day's special ngiri of hamachi was outstanding. Staff were friendly and attentive. Free parking in the garage behind. ...call me a traditionalist, but I wish all Japanese restaurants offered the side salad with ginger dressing, and wakame salads.

We are here for the IUCN Conference and having a meeting of the minds. Just a short walk from the Convention Center so it works for a lunch meeting. The food was amazing, I am leaving here full. Just wish the waitress checked in more then once, we are a decent size group someone might need a refill or something... More

We went to Shokudo for lunch with a friend and our waiter, Bob, was very knowledgeable and helped us pick a good variety of plates to share. We had the tofu salad, lobster (california) roll, spicy tuna roll and unagi hot pot. Everything tasted great - they make their own tofu in-house for the salad. We got the unagi hot... More

This is a popular restaurant and there were a number of people waiting for tables. This is usually a good sign and proved to be true for Shokudo. The wait for a table was only 15 minutes and it was well worth the wait. Our waiter was really helpful in giving advice about the food and he had really nice... More

Located on the north side of Ala Moana, it's easy to get to. Lots of structured parking right next door on Kapiolani too. We were part of a large group that provided an opportunity to sample many menu items, which were all excellent. Many of the dishes were old standards, but prepared with new, creative techniques that made the evening... More

Couldn't recommend this restaurant enough! My family & I actually ended up visiting twice during our stay in Hawaii because we enjoyed it so much. The service is speedy & friendly while the food offers both authentic and westernised Japanese food. Their hot bowl garlic rice is a MUST try!
