Never judge a book by it's cover! The outside doesn't look like much and 9 out of 10 people would simply just walk by. However this hidden gem has the best sushi you will ever taste. The staff is friendly and the meals are prepped in front of your eyes which gives you first glance at the craftsmenship that is put... This Izakaya has Happy Hour specials and a varied menu. Our favorites include the assortments of tofu-- . On this occasion, they were out. Instead we had the chicken and mushroom rice, cooked in a clay pot and mixed with a raw egg. Amaebi and ikura nigiri sushi, a large platter of sashimi, with four or five different kinds of... More

We saw the reviews and pictures from other Yelp users and had to give this place a try. I'm glad we did!!! The place seems "closed" when we arrived around 6:30pm, since there was no sound as we approached this place. Even up to the door entrance, no noise. But once you enter this place, you'll hear.......IRASSHAIMASE!!!!! And many customers... More

This popular place has the convivial atmosphere of an Izakaya, where the regulars are drinking Sake and singing or enjoying music. Even the Tamago appeared to be stamped "Ongaku". There were several small plates "tapas" available. The Sushi was fresh as expected. Neither the small plates nor the Sushi were remarkable for such a highly rated place. I felt Sushi... More

This restaurant's overall quality is very consistent, which is rare in the food industry. I usually sit on the table or zashiki since we have 2 kids, but this time my husband and I were alone and sit at the counter. It's a very different experience which we got to talk to the Sushi chef and they recommended the Day's... More

I have dined at this Izakaya 4 times and it has never let me down. The food quality, taste and service is excellent. I know this is a Japanese restaurant but the Steak is excellent not to mention the broiled Moi which they always have. I recommend you go early before the crowd comes and do make a reservation.

I am Japanese who has lived both in the States and Japan and have been to many sushi and izakaya places. Honestly I am puzzled that this restaurant is even highly reviewed. + Food - Sushi and nigiri - Seafood is fresh and good quality but each nigiri piece is very tiny. There are other sushi places that offer a... More

This is a small and very popular restaurant that ignites to life every time another customer walks in. The service is great, and the food experience is very special. I was fortunate to have gone with someone who new the place and the menu - that certainly helps with choosing the courses. The sushimi was incredible, with the Toro and... More

For my 6 day trip to Oahu, I spent my 2 dinners at this Izakaya. Oh, I so much love thier fresh sashimi and so chewy and fresh sushi. The best one is, Uni sushi- urchin roe- so yummy. And I also love their shrimp sushi too. But it's not enough for a serving so you should order some more... More

We came with our kids and they had a great time cooking their own dinner. The food and service were great - fun, casual place, you can come in flip flops or dressed up.
