I wish i could say our evening there was more fun. I picked up my date and showed up at around 7:15pm without reservations. We asked for a table but the employee who greeted us answered they were unfortunately completely booked, but they had room...for us in the bar. Seemed plausible since it was only around 7pm but the dining room area was still mostly empty. So to the bar we went, and sat on what I could only describe as the most uncomfortable wooden stool I ever sat on, in fact I was going numb by the time we finished the main course - I had to stand up for a few minutes just for some relief. My date had the whole fish and I had the burger, the food was pretty good, no complaints there. About an hour and a half later it was time to ask for the bill and head out. As we walked out wouldn't you know it... the dining room wasn't even half full! in fact at no point was filled up the entire evening. So while I was a good enough client to pay a $121 dinner for 2 I still wasn't quite good enough to deserve a real table. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed.More

Here is an unexpected find in the heart of seedy Chinatown on the corner of the infamous N.Hotel St. and Smith St. We stepped into this darkened yet well lit restaurant off the sunny street to find an inviting layout that was comfortable with an...eclectic decor which relaxes you from the get go. There was an assortment of options for social distancing seating during this COVID-19 situation, but you can tell that even during normal times, there would be a good layout. The staff were all very inviting and friendly while maintaining their own safety spaces. We were greeted immediately and offered seating options. Hand sanitizer was also available right when you walked in the door from a no touch dispenser. We came on a Saturday, so there was only the brunch menu available. It was a bit of a disappointment, but our fault for not checking first. There were adequate options to choose from despite not having the full lunch menu available. I ordered the Tavern Burger. The burger was probably one of the best gourmet burgers I have ever had. Cooked to perfection, they got my order of medium rare perfectly. Everything from the bun to the accudiments were all put together for a picture perfect burger that was very delicious. The only disappointing part of this dish were the french fries. Not sure what it was, but they just were not very good. The fries were limp and didn't seem to have been cooked properly. My partner got the lobster roll. Although the lobster was excellent and generous, there was just something missing about this sandwich. It needed something more to the lobster and mayonnaise and seemed incomplete. I think if you were a minimalist for food who like thing plain, you would like this dish. All in all, it was a good experience and would recommend others to try it.More

We enjoyed dinner at this restaurant. Staff were pleasant and friendly. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in. Their private select old fashioned cocktail was simply amazing. Beet salad and wedge salad with lamb bacon were delicious- greens were fresh and crisp....The corn bread as well as the crab cakes were well worth the extra calories. Our mains were filet mignon and smoked prime rib. Meats were tender, juicy and cooked just as requested. The Lilikoi merengue was a great way to finish our meal. Service was outstanding. Staff cleared dishes and filled water glasses as needed. We did not feel rushed. Timing between course was just right. This restaurant is located near the Chinatown area. Street parking is avail able but tough to find. There are several public parking lots close to the restaurant. Rate is $3/hour. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy cocktails and dinner on a Friday night.More

Had dinner here as a farewell for a friend. The service was outstanding and the food was incredible! The crab cakes and seafood risotto were amazing and a must-have. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Paid parking is convenient, about a block away.

Trendy and stylish casual eatery. Excellent food and service. Great menu - modern American food. The gnocchi was excellent, as was the octopus, and the pork fillet. And the cornbread with jalapeño butter is amazing!

Livestock Tavern was a perfect date night and friends gathering spot. The ambiance was modern warehouse rustic chic. The menu was a perfect combination of everything you could want with fresh ingredients and premium meat selections. Their drink menu was outstanding we were big fans...of the pomegranate thyme sweet tea and the bourbon speciality cocktails. Their cornbread is a must as it's made with polenta....delicious! The duck, was cooked to perfection and the glaze sauce was an outstanding compliment. The prime rib was on point with wonderful root vegetable accents. I could go on and on....OR you could go and be happy you did! Highly recommend!More

Our dinner started with complimentary birthday champagne! I was pleased the waitress, Vanessa, who looked a bit like Jessica Chastain, noticed the notation in our reservation. She was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive! I had the Oxtail Ravioli. I love ordering less common dishes when I...see them, and the meaty taste of this dish was inviting and flavorful. $69 + tip for 2 people (1 soup, 1 small plate, 1 large plate & 2 craft beers).More

Fun place for a dinner with friends. Lively atmosphere in fun part of town. Drinks were good but the food was hit or miss. Everyone that ordered beef really liked their food. The chicken was awful. It truly tasted like it was sautéd in clam...juice. Stick with the Livestock!!More

Our first time there to celebrate my husband’s birthday (which I specified on Opentable). Not one mention of his birthday like other places would if mentioned on Opentable in that specials request box. My husband was looking forward to the prime rib there but it...was out along with several other dishes at 7:30pm in the evening. I guess an earlier reservation may have been better but we didn’t know food would run out by 7:30pm. We settled for oxtail ravioli, pork chops, lobster pasta and filet Mignon (party of 4). Also got the corn bread and crab cakes Bennie as appetizers. This is a foodie go to restaurant. For the most part everyone except my husband enjoyed their dish choices. My husband had the pork chops, and he said it needed more sauce or something to help with the thickness of the cut. The atmosphere was quite lively with dim lighting. Someone’s laugh just echoed throughout the restaurant. Service was ok. The staff were friendly and made sure we were ok. The wait between appetizers and main dishes took a while but not long enough for my husband to complain so that’s good. It’s located in the downtown area of Honolulu. Paid parking a block away unless you find street parking. Would prefer to celebrate somewhere else next time. It just felt like “here’s your dinner, by” kind of night for us.More
