We have been to the Hau Tree Lanai several times over the years and are always please with the service, the meal, and the view. You cannot beat the view, it is literally on the beach. The food is always fantastic. Today I had the Rubin sandwich my wife had eggs Benedict. Both were delicious. The service is amazing and... More

Great location just outside the busy hustle of Waikiki beach. Seafood and steak also salads. Fresh baked bread. Plate portions are very large. We often split a dish and add a salad. The bar that sits just above the restaurant has great views of the ocean and fun tropical drinks. Attire is beach casual or dress it up. A wonderful... More

After having reservations for a week, we arrived only to be sat behind a Hau Tree. It was sunset, and there was an available table we asked for, but was told by a waiter that it was reserved for a table of four (we were a table of two). We had ordered a bottle of wine, but the Maitre De... More

My wife and I have been eating here on and off for 20 years. We just returned and it's as nice as ever--great location, good food, a bit pricey (but it's Honolulu). This time it was breakfast which is always nice here.

Walking around and came on to this place, decided it was time for drink. They have an Award Winning Mai Tai, and yes it was delicious. Time got away from us and decided to eat lunch after watching all the great looking plates go by. We had the Mahi-mahi sandwich with fries, and also shared the Clam chowder that was... More

Our family enjoyed the breakfast here so much on the 2nd day of our visit that we returned for breakfast here again on the 4th day of the trip. The setting is gorgeous, sitting essentially on the beach, shaded by the tree, looking out at the ocean. The service was excellent--friendly and accommodating. The pancakes and omelettes were wonderful, as... More

I can't say enough good things about the great service, the beautiful location, and the excellent breakfast here. Make reservations to ensure a table and then enjoy a fabulous breakfast on the beach.

This restaurant is a favorite for breakfast because of the beautiful view, good food, and because it is a short walk from the condo we lease for the month of December on the "Gold Coast." Like many other beach restaurants in Honolulu, it is not inexpensive. The restaurant is open-air dining on the beach patio of a hotel located on... More

I stayed at the New Otani hotel and took advantage of having breakfast in this wonderful setting under the big old Hau tree. The food was very good, nothing exceptional, but prepared and presented well.
