Dinner with friends with quiet atmosphere

We like the atmosphere which was peaceful and quiet. We could visit with friends without shouting or feel like we were skirting so close to other diners. They serve small and large size dinners. The small was plenty of food. I grew with other reviewers that the bread served is not worth... read more

My cousin brought us here four years ago, and it was the first place we wanted to go on our return trip. Both times we thought the food was heavenly! The three of us ordered different fish entrees, and everything was exquisite. They not only had a large selection of seafood, but they offered different methods of preparation of each... More

Very good food but service is very slow. 2 1/2 hours we have been here and still haven't gotten the bill. Only reason for a very good rating is because of the slow serves. Should have been excellent Small portions are large enough for an adult serving. They do not have a child's menu.

We finally had dinner at Assaggio's after living in the area for more than a year. We had avoid it because of the over priced entrées. We finally tried it and the food was amazing! Prices were still too high, but we were very impressed with the food. We will be back - after we save up a little!

We ate here for the first time on Christmas Eve with friends who eat here often. We couldn't get an earlier reservation, and they closed at 9:30 that night, but they accommodated a 9:00 reservation and when we arrived about 20 minutes early they had a table for us. The food was amazing. Portions are huge, so plan to share... More

We had not been to this Assaggio's in a couple of years. It is so nice to go back to a restaurant and find that it has remained consistant in the features that brought you there in the first place. The four of us split 2 ceasar salads which were excellent. I had fresh opah done with a picatta sauce.... More

Every time I'm in Honolulu, my first dinner is here. The chicken olio is distinctive and definitely for garlic lovers. Lots of fragrant chopped garlic with olive oil spaghetti. The chicken is fried with a crispy skin and succulent meat. The cold antipasti plate was a nice selection of olives, anchovies, cheese, ham and pickled peppers. This went well with... More

I agree with the previous poster about the service. We may have had the same waiter. He was good but like my husband said his heart just didn't seem to be in it. His helpers however were very good. This restaurant is in a terrific location overlooking the marina. For the ambiance, setting, food and service we felt the prices... More

The food is good and plentiful. The prices are too high. The service has a lot to be desired - not in line with the pricing nor the atmosphere. Our waiter was polite and seemed to know the menu but he was in a hurry wanted us to just get on with it and let it show. A cocky kid... More

This restaurant is in a location where the main clientele seem to be locals. Atmosphere at lunchtime was calm, as most were tables of two. The lunch menu was big, I didn't pay attention to the broad categories, as I went for the fish sandwich. It was a bit too well done for my taste, but other people at my... More
