Great little Thai place tucked away on King Street. 100% authentic and great service. My standards (soft spring rolls and green curry with shrimp) were excellent. The curry was thick, creamy, and full of flavor...medium was not as spicy as I like, so will order spicy next time. Singha was icy cold. Fantastic little family restaurant with reasonable prices for... More

Love their stuffed deep fried chicken wings; food is prepared in highly visible area with complex delicious aromas of curries and garlic that surround you. Service is good. Parking can be a challenge.

We had not tried Chiang-Mai in many years. We were not disappointed. The food was terrific and priced reasonably. The ambiance was gracious in a casual way. It was especially refreshing to find and dine at a restaurant where the acoustics were good and you could carry on a conversation with your guests without yelling. It's our new "go-to" neighborhood... More

Neighborhood restaurant, far from the tourist traps, frequented by locals for the most part; very large and extensive menu offerings, old-fashioned decor, poor wine list ( but inexpensive), very good traditional Thai food and preparation, plus they can make the dishes as hot (or not) as one may like. Consistently good, and much, much better than the upscale and expensive... More

I am thrilled we stopped to have dinner at Chiang Mai. My husband had the seafood mixed vegetables ... It was outstanding. We will be going back again and again.

My family comes here as a treat! We live the pineapple fried rice served in a pineapple as well as all the tasty curries. It's not inexpensive but the dishes are traditional Thai!

My family went for dinner. We had spring rolls, calamari, and stuffed chicken wings. Great appetizers but served on broken plates. All the corners of the plates were broken. The evil jungle shrimp dish came with the shrimp still raw. Never order alcohol because it is cheap. This used to be a first class restaurant. So sad that it has... More

We look for new thai restaurants each visit to Honolulu. We took a party of 12 to dinner here, and the food was awesome. My only warning, is if you like your food hot or spicy, be careful, as I ordered my dinner extra spicy, and it was, without a doubt, the hottest I've ever eaten. Literally numbed my lips... More

We chose Chiang Mai because it was a 5 minute walk from my friend's house. After reading reviews about how popular and difficult it was to get in, I made reservations which didn't seem too difficult. We ordered a lot of the recommended specialties, and a few stood out. The pineapple fried rice was highly recommended and justly so. The... More

I just LOVED this Thai restaurant! Great decor! Great service! Great food! Great AND YUMMY fun! My husband and I were LUCKY enough to take a trip to Honolulu this summer and met up with a friend who works at the University of Hawaii. He took us to Chiang-Mai and it was WONDERFUL! We have many very good Thai restaurants... More
