We sample 3 different Manapua after taking a number and waiting several minutes on a Thursday morning. It was worth the wait. Sweet and savoury charsiu pork and chicken curry and purple sweet potato were the flavors that we tried. All excellent!! Highly recommended.

This place was on our food tour. We never would have stopped here on our own. So, I wanted to alert all my Trip Advisor friends not to miss this unique and so yummy food experience! Little puffed pockets of portable and hearty goodness.

ROYAL KITCHEN : MEANING OF MANAPUA Baked little wonderful bready pillows of savory morsels of goodness. I cannot wait till the next encounter . they also have plates that you can get , noodles, Chinese roast pork with that crunchy skin, oh my I think I went to heaven, all at a very reasonable price. There is a sticky pudding... More

If you want a manapua this is the place to go. Lines can go out the door, but it moves fast. A hearty good and inexpensive meal awaits. The only thing holding this place back is that the filling seems a bit skimpy.

Royal Kitchen's baked manapua are the Hawaiian-Chinese version of Chinese steamed cha shu bao (chopped BBQ pork). There are several fillings to choose from. We chose the char siu (BBQ pork) filling which was finely shredded and the texture was a little mushy, but tasted good. We stopped here as the first stop on the Hawaii Food Tour (which is... More

When you last this long in Chinatown, there's a simple explanation for their success: good food at reasonable prices. Walk up, point and pay. Each lunch has lots of rice (brown or white, thank you) and several entrees and veggie choices. Most offerings have meat in them (much like most Chinese places) but there's always one or two non-meat choices... More

If you are ever in the Chinatown Area, you have to go to Royal Kitchen to get the Baked Charsiu Manapua. The Manapua here at Royal Kitchen are so good because they are light,Fluffy, and so full of flavor. They do have other types of Baked Manapua but the real draw is the Baked Charsiu Manapua. You won't regret it,... More

Another place we stopped by while riding around on our scooters. This is another hole in the wall spot that by the looks most would keep riding past. But after you taste their manapua you will change your mind. Manapua are sweet soft puffy bread filled with many things depending on what you like. We ordered the chicken and Kalua... More

Royal Kitchen is a hole in the wall, but they have a great Hawaiian food called baked manapua. It is a stuffed Hawaiian bun. The bread is slightly sweet and they stuff them with things like pork, chicken, and purple sweet potato. This is real Hawaiian food.
