This place is a gem. In the suburbs of Honolulu, it is inside an old large house that is run by the ISKON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness). Buffet style vegetarian food, all homemade. You take your shoes off when you enter. The food was...fresh, unique and super tasty. The ginger tea they have to drink is out of this world good. $13 all you can eat. The most lovely and welcoming hosts. There were international students staying on the property who were charming to meet as well. Tour the grounds if you get there before it gets dark. They have a beautiful huge old tree out back. Highly recommend!More

I came years ago. I was surprised that it was in a residential home. It was very zen and peaceful. We ate outside near the banyan tree. As we finished our lunch my 5 year old daughter heard chanting in a far off room. She...went to the window to watch. The person chanting invited her in. It was so sweet and such a cultural experience. I plan to bring some friends there to eat this summer. Oh and the food is Delicious!!! I remembered it was a great deal too.More

Govinda's is run by ISKON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness on Oahu and opened for lunch ($13-), 6 days a week from 11-2, closed on Sundays and for dinner ($15-) from 4:30-7:30. A lovely refreshing ginger/lemon/mint drink is included with the buffet price. The...restaurant is in the same building as the temple. They accept cash or card. After entering from the main door proceed to the mini store. Pay the cashier for your meal and head toward the buffet. After eating throw your garbage away and place your tray on the shelf located near the trash can. ++Take your shoes off at the door before entering the main building++ Each day the menu changes, the menu is posted on their website. Their website also provides more information regarding yoga, temple hours etc. Relaxing mellow music is played in the background and the smell of incense is in the air.More

I come here at least twice monthly as the buffet is excellent and I love eating in the garden under the huge Banyan tree, the oldest on the island. The atmosphere is also very peaceful. All dishes are vegan except for the lasagna and dessert...which are vegetarian and most are organic too!More

We loved the delicious vegetarian Indian buffet which was mostly vegan except for 2 items. The balance of spices was perfect and it wasn't too hot or bland. We definitely recommend eating here.

I tried this little off the beaten path place and liked it! It was a cultural experience and the food was very good. I went at 11:15am on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. I ate outside in the shade of a huge tree....I am going back with a friend this Saturday.More

Delicious vegetarian buffet at a great price, on a gorgeous property. I always sit outside to enjoy the huge banyan tree. This is at the Hare Krishna temple. Always a quiet, enjoyable experience.
