We had eaten here numerous times and enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food. Unfortunately, Chef Mavro is no longer in the kitchen. The 5 course meal with wine pairing was a disaster. Portions are tiny; the wine list is incredibly overpriced, even by Hawaiian high price standards, and the wine pairing was composed of inferior quality wine, except... More

We were tired and still on East Coast time, We did not want all the courses on tasting menu and they accommodated us My gluten issues were addressed in a most Professional manner . The fois gras and Sauternes not to be missed . The lobster was exquisite as was my colleague's risotto with fresh truffles . We did not... More

We felt like an evening of fine dining and went to Chef Mavro after reading various reviews. We had the four course fixed menu, with truffle risotto and Wagyu beef add-ons; and we chose the wine pairings for all six courses. The quality of the food across the board was excellent. The portion sizes were perfect for me (though many... More

There are many good dining options in Honolulu and at least two really outstanding ones: Chef Mavro and Alan Wong. My wife and I visited both on a recent trip. Both are located on King St. – but on opposite ends, which also defines the offerings of these two establishments, one in north King St. and the other in south... More

Had to try Chef Mavro after reading the reviews and the AAA Diamonds. We ate here on our last night to celebrate a big award my wife had won. We decided on the six course-tasting menu and shared a wine pairing. All of the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. I found them friendly (some reviews have complained about this).... The menu at Chef Mavro is unique and what was presented at our table was delicious. The service is excellent. Visiting Chef Mavro is a high point of our visits to Honolulu.

The food here is great. Service friendly but this is a once in a lifetime experience not an every day one. Some of the food explanations were rushed and unintelligible. Delivered in a friendly way but with some hurriedness. Place was full on a Satutday night but not loud. For nearly $500 you might expect to see the chef, any... More

My wife and I have come to your restaurant many times. Each time I come I wonder if it will live up to my recollection, which is pretty amazing, and somehow you manage to exceed it. We feel so fortunate to have your restaurant here in Honolulu. You are in a league of your own. Thank you yet again for... More

Visitors please note: Chef Mavro is one of, if not the most, creative restaurant in the state. The dishes are inventive and artfully presented. Wine pairings are exceptional. The ambience is elegant but not stuffy. Service is the best I've had in a long time.

Our sixth time / always great Definitely get the wine pairings / always very interesting and unique Always AVOID the truffles / they are shockingly flavorless (this year and last year) / not worth the price But having flavorless truffles does not mitigate the amazing food / it doesn't need truffles Best place in Honolulu
