Definitely an eating experience. Leave the kids and the non foodies at home and treat yourself and a love to to a special dining experience. You can choose four, six or more courses. Each course is unique and beautifully displayed.

The menu is very minimalistic. There is either a 4 course meal or a 6 course meal with/or without a wine pairing. The courses were on the small side but well prepared and a great presentation. Each course was brought out with an elaborate explanation however the time between each course was a little on the long side. I highly... More

The best restaurant in the world. The food and service is exceptional and each of the course choices will not disappoint you. This is a family owned restaurant and Chef Mavro and Donna should be very proud of what they are offering to Oahu and vacationers from all over the world. We have spent every significant anniversary with them for... More

The restaurant is well located at South King Street, Honolulu, with ample parking space. Inside the restaurant, the light was dim, the decor was on the wane, and the table set against the wall where we were seated was not so comfortable. There were only two choices of course menu for dinner, with or without wine pairings. Three of us... More

When you make reservations at Chef Mavro, you know you're going to experience world class cuisine and wine pairings. That's why we took my visiting sister and brother-in-law from San Francisco for a night of epicurean indulgence tasting all of the divine creations on Mavro's Summer in Provence menu. We thoroughly enjoyed every course! We knew we were in for... More

Service was impeccable. Food was way overpriced for the ingredients and portion sizes. We had the Summer Tasting Menu which consisted of: 1. SUPIONS PERSILLADE - Looked and tasted like a small platter of deep fried food. Nothing special flavor wise. Tasted good because only because anything deep fried tastes good. 2. BOUILLABAISSE - Good. But again nothing special to... More

We had eaten here numerous times and enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food. Unfortunately, Chef Mavro is no longer in the kitchen. The 5 course meal with wine pairing was a disaster. Portions are tiny; the wine list is incredibly overpriced, even by Hawaiian high price standards, and the wine pairing was composed of inferior quality wine, except... More

We were tired and still on East Coast time, We did not want all the courses on tasting menu and they accommodated us My gluten issues were addressed in a most Professional manner . The fois gras and Sauternes not to be missed . The lobster was exquisite as was my colleague's risotto with fresh truffles . We did not... More

We felt like an evening of fine dining and went to Chef Mavro after reading various reviews. We had the four course fixed menu, with truffle risotto and Wagyu beef add-ons; and we chose the wine pairings for all six courses. The quality of the food across the board was excellent. The portion sizes were perfect for me (though many... More

There are many good dining options in Honolulu and at least two really outstanding ones: Chef Mavro and Alan Wong. My wife and I visited both on a recent trip. Both are located on King St. – but on opposite ends, which also defines the offerings of these two establishments, one in north King St. and the other in south... More
