First time trying authentic Hawaiian food

Parked right outside where there is a parking meter. I passed the place twice trying to find it. Waiter helped me order because I had no clue what anything was that I was reading, except rice. There aren't descriptions of the dishes nor pictures. It was pretty good but I really don't have... read more

Don't let the size fool you. You wait outside and someone will come out and let you know wait time. 10-15 mins for us. There is no alcohol here but we saw someone else bring some in. We order the combo plate which was enough for us three ladies who weren't starving. Make sure you have cash to pay with.

This is another one of our must-go-to spots on Oahu whenever in town. We always make time for Ono Hawaiian Foods on the main drag of Kapahulu. A very unassuming establishment, this is where to get the most authentic Hawaiian cuisine not far from Waikiki. This is where we get our lau-lau fix and it comes complete with a party... More

Real good Hawaiin food that is authentic. Bring your own beer or wine if you wish. Three of us shared the combo which was perfect.

Great find and a little shop with a big reputation with locals. Had the lau lau, polo and Kalua pork. It was all very tasty and tasted as home cooked. Very friendly service that HAWAII is famed for. Definitely worth a stop if you want to try local food. Very easy to find and close to Waikiki.

At ONO Hawaiin food you don't only get great food but also a little bit of information on what you are eating. It's a little off the beaten track but definitly worth the walk from the overly crowded and overly touristy Waikiki beach. You might not know everything you're getting but you will definitly grow to love this authentic food... More

Second time visiting this restaurant in two weeks. Both times we had very good food. Last time we went on the owner's recommendations and weren't disappointed. Both times we got there an hour before it closed, and they were starting to run out of their "popular" items.

Love the food there. We had a combination plate which offers a little bit of everything Hawaiian. I loved the Laulau. My husband was very impressed by their chicken long rice soup. The owner is very friendly and offered us some samples. Parking is a bit hard.

If you want an authentic taste of true Hawaiian food. . . This is the place you should go. It small and not your typical luxury restaurant like in Waikiki but each time I come here, it's one of my first spots to eat at.

This the place to go to try authentic Hawaiian food. The staff are very friendly and good at giving suggestions/explanations. Loved their pork laulau. Tried poi and like most people, do not need to try it again. Everything else was delicious. Fast service too. Would go back again.
