My family made a reservation for 13 to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We arrived 20 minutes early. The restaurant was closed. There was seating outside the restaurant. We had some family members who could not stand for long. We sat in the seating outside the...restaurant. We did not think there was any harm. Five minutes before open a waiter came out and scolded my family for sitting in the seats. This was the first unpleasant experience in Hawaii. The manager offered no apologies. We cancelled our reservation. This restaurant is full of racist Japanese people! I would not recommend this place. Buyer beware!!More

Having been to Japan many times I am big fan of the food as well as the whiskey. I am well aware of the Suntory brand and my wife and I came here for apps and drinks just so I could have some Hibiki 21...year whiskey! We stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki and this is located right across the street in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. We didn’t have reservations but the hostess was so nice she took my cell phone number and called us about 30 minutes later with a table. We couldn’t stay for a full dinner but we really enjoyed the restaurant. It’s divided up between teppanyaki seating and washoku and the ambiance was great. The shrimp and vegetable tempura was excellent and the Hibiki whiskey was incredible as always. We found the server, the hostess and the staff to be genuinely nice and helpful and we really enjoyed everything. We will be back for sure!More

Disappointing. The effects of the Covid restrictions are showing. The prior Japanese efficiency and attention to detail are absent. Still OK but no longer as special as it was. Hopefully as they recover from the lock down more of the old charm will return.

Went to eat with family they were prepared to seat us. My cousin asked some questions for understanding. After asking questions, less than 2 minutes. They told us they would not seat us and there were empty seats. I would not go ever again to...this place, I was so disgustedMore

This Japanese restaurant has been around for years. Located on the 3rd. floor of the Royal Hawaiian Center almost in the middle, it offers an assortment of seating areas including some with a view. They offer a wide range of Japanese classics made and served...in very traditional fashion. Lunch specials offer you the same great food of the evening, slightly reduced prices. If they have a special menu, it is usually a seasonal special and I recommend trying it for the experience as you won't see it again. It offers you a great tasting as a good price that normally would cost you a lot more if you attempted something similar through the regular menu. The food is all freshly prepared and elegantly presented in traditional and appropriate Japanese fashion. The service was very attentive and polite from start to finish. If you appreciate Japanese food and the traditions around it, I this is the place for you.More

What an absolutely fabulous restaurant. We had to wait 30 minutes to get in and were a bit anxious but that all went away pretty quickly as our waiter was professional and efficient. Food was quite fast to come out and was outstanding. My wife...and I had salmon yaki 9.50, salmon belly 8.00, soft shell tempur 7.00, island tempura 13.00, wafu steak (amazing) 24.00, rice 2.50, plus wine and tea. Total bill 91.50 us. Can not recommend this place enough. Best best meal in Hawaii.More

Located on the top floor of Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center with other restaurants, it is quite convenient. It is sub-divided into teppanyaki and washoku section. We visited two times in 3 days. We ordered sukiyaki, rice bowl with eel, teriyaki chicken, hot plate beef, and...cod fish. One disappointment is the rice is not as good as expected, though is still good. The teriyaki chicken is not stir fried but more like deep fried. Taste wise very close to authentic dishes in Japan. Portion is reasonable as well as price. Service is of course typical Japanese high level.More

We hosted some business clients at Suntory for dinner and were very impressed, as were our guests! As a frequent visitor to Japan, we are fairly critical of Honolulu Japanese restaurants, but Suntory never disappoints! The service is excellent, the food superior and VERY reasonably...priced considering the quality fare. We chose the specials, which were priced at $35-40.00 and excellent. We most often utilize Suntory for lunches, but we will try to get here more often for dinner, I recommend Suntory very highly!More

We went for dinner with some friends and had teppanyaki. The seafood and steak/lobster courses were reasonable and filling. We also added the garlic fried rice. Along with appetizers and dessert we rolled ourselves out of the restaurant.

The teppanyaki at Suntory is great! I would recommend getting the full Suntory Teppanyaki set to be able to try a lot of Japanese cuisine!
