We visited Hawaii for our 30th anniversary in September 2016 and stayed at the Lotus, Diamond Head. Michel's is next door and we had walked past and seen that it fronted the beach so we decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. I originally dropped in and spoke to Jenna at the front desk and explained that... More

Love, love, love Michel's. The food is outstanding, service wonderful and the ambience - amazing. My husband and I have eaten here several times since our first visit in 2008 and the quality remains outstanding. Fine dining while watching the Waikiki Sunset, listening to Jeff Peterson playing his slack key guitar - it doesn't get better than this.

Having had a very enjoyable evening at this restaurant two weeks ago, I took a friend to dinner there giving high expectations. The comparison to my previous visit was a disappointment in every possible way. The off handed attitude of the Reception/Hostess, an admittedly front table was jammed between a table on either side which, after much coaxing, was given... More

After enjoying Michel's several times over the years I decided to book for a party of eight including visiting foreign visiting dignitaries. We arrived for our 6 pm reservation to find out the main dining room to be understaffed due to a large private party. Our amuse bouche arrived after several inquiries at 7:10 pm. 10 minutes later the appetizers... More

Went there for an introduction meeting with our new business partners. The setting is really fantastic, right on the beach. The food is excellent and typically the salad isn't my favorite part; however, the table side caesar is fantastic.

An experience that will return you to the days of dining in the 1930s. Spectacular table-side preparations and reliable favorite menu items. But the service is a different matter. We waited nearly an hour between appetizer and entree, perhaps because one of the servers was spending most of his time "performing" at a table of six. Given the number of... More

Stayed in hotel next to this restaurant. Sunset views and across to Waikiki are lovely. Food is very nice with exceptional service by all staff. It is very expensive though.

We've been going to Michels for about 20 years now. It used to be our "go to"special occasion restaurant. I hate to admit it but dining at Michels in 2016 was nothing to write about. The food became mediocre and uninteresting, somewhat old and just ordinary. The view is still spectacular, of course, but the ambience has completely changed......it looked... More
