Poki was very fresh and tasty, only a little shop but very clean with lots of customers coming and going.

On a repeat visit after the pandemic, it appears that Ono is skating by on its past reviews. Could it be that it's counting only on clueless and undiscerning tourists from nearby Waikiki for its clientele? I ordered a large poke bowl and both the...quality and the portion size were underwhelming, making it poor value. The quality of the poke itself was nothing exceptional, and I had had better from Foodland for less money. The "large" size bowl from Ono apparently means only additional rice, because it was topped with a startlingly thin layer of fish -- not what I expected for almost $20, even for Hawaii, where I eat a lot of poke on every annual visit. Very disappointing, and I'm sad to say I'll be going elsewhere for my fix of poke.More
Just a decent poke joint. Not sure why the reviews are so high. We had the spicy ahi platter and the combo platter - ahi and tako (octopus). Seasoning was ok. Rice was too warm and warmed up the poke quickly. Not a good thing...if you have to drive a bit of a distance. Highest price point (about $ 20 for a 1/2 lb. order). Fresh Catch is superior by a mile!More
My family loves poke, we have made a point to try as many as we can when we travel and especially on Oahu since most places offer good-great poke. Like most staples in food, there is subjectivity. I feel like great poke is about the...freshness of the fish. Yes, the sauces/seasoning make it unique however, it is all about the freshness and price. Ono is the best overall in my opinion. There are a few contenders like Foodland Farms poke bar (great value) and Fresh Catch. Yes, some of the restaurants will charge you double for less poke and it comes with a view. Ono delivers everything for the foodie driven by taste and value. It is not elegant, they serve in plastic. This is about the fish. I am thankful I met a local that told me to try, feel like it is my duty to share although you want to keep it a secret. Hope you enjoy.More
Top shelf poke that isn’t cheap but worth the cost and effort to get here. Excellent texture with super fresh fish. Small tables out front to sit and enjoy the fish.
Hawaiian style poke and Edamame were ordered. The rice was dry and style but the poke and the garlic edemame were awesome. Limited area to sit outside. They have all kinds of side to choose from: pickled mango., pickled onion …. The price was higher...than other poke places. It was very good tho.More
Had the spicy ahi poke and tako poke, both were good. The food was fresh and tasty. I would visit again if I go back to Honolulu. The pokes comes with a free drink too. Ono is in the same parking lot as Favorites, so...I stopped by Favorites after poke. They only have outdoor bench seating and parking is very limited.More
Read about Ono Seafood on some of the travel blogs. After taking a hike in Diamond Head we stopped by here for some poke. Parking is limited. The poke is already pre-made so as soon as you order they give it to you. The sides...like lomi salmon are already in the refrigerator. It was more expensive than some of other restaurants. Foodland poke tastes better and is less expensive. It also does not offer any add-ons like some other restaurants. We tried Hawaiian Style and Spicy Ahi. Spicy Ahi was really spicy. You get a free soda per order.More
After seeing the photoluke YouTube video of Poke Fix we had to come. The best umami bomb ever. Came twice during our visit to Oahu. Didn’t try to poke bowls but maybe next visit. Mahalo for a great bomb!
My husband had the poke and I had wakame salad and cucumber salad with a side of rice. My husband liked his poke and I thought the wakame was excellent. But the cucumber salad had a dusty, old taste to it that overpowered the seasoning...of the salad so I ended up throwing out half the salad. The rice is also ok. For people who want a quick bite, it's not a bad place to go to. But I wouldn't go out of my way to eat hereMore
Best poke I've ever had, and they were able to accommodate my gluten allergy. The staff is so friendly. I highly recommend.
I had half spicy salmon and half shoyu ahi it was fresh flavorful and delicious! I also got the seaweed salad which was refreshing and crunchy. The line wasn’t too bad when I got there but soon after was extremely long. We waited around 20...minutes which wasn’t too bad .More
I am a big fan of Poke and this place was recommended in a YouTube video that I watched. It a hole in the wall close to the Waikiki area. The poke is fresh and you can tell by the smell as soon as you...walk in the door. I highly recommend taking a Biki Bike or driving out of Waikiki to visit this locationMore
I've had a fair amount of poke from different places on Oahu and the Big Island and this is by far the best! It's a small little place with two big picnic tables outside under a covering so it's ideal for takeout. Parking lot is...super busy because it's so popular. The staff is really nice. Heads up, they're so popular they start to run out of certain varieties by around 3ish if you want to make sure you get something specific, but all of it is pretty amazing and super fresh! No pictures because my sister and I ate is so fast lol.More
We often would bring a Chinese entree to a potluck with our local family at Kapiolani park . Our preference was chicken cake noodle from Kapahulu Chop Suey. No longer there, so we picked up a a half tray of roasted chicken cake noodle from...Onon in Kapahulu at 11am ; They open at 10am. All our Chinese, Samoan, Incas and Caucasian guests complimented it as the best dish at our picnic . Half tray serves 12 people and costs ~$52. Worth every cent.More
