The freshest ingredients. So fun to watch them make the excellent food. This is the best food of its type. I only wish more restaurants would think quality and fresh ingredients, simply the best. This place is extremely casual and affordable. The best noodle soup...ever. The problem is the long lines. Its so popular waiting 45 minutes is common. The food is a great break from the normal expensive restaurants.More

After reading previous reviews, my spouse and I were excited to try this restaurant for a late lunch. At 2pm, the line was very short so we ordered the recommended Beef Teriyaki and Chicken Teriyaki bowls, plus tempura shrimp. The shrimp was good. The chicken...teriyaki with noodles was “ok”, but nothing special. The surprise was the beef teriyaki. The beef was one flat piece of glutinous, fatty meat, covered with sauce. The description on the webpage was crispy beef. We tried to eat it , but couldn’t.More

It was about a 30-45 min wait the day we decided to wait. It was raining and we had ponchos. I agree with other reviews that it was fun to see it being made. We had one person walk in and then get everything to...go. Not all dishes are available to go. We enjoyed the Chicken Teriyaki over Udon noodles. All of the tempura was amazing. We got Udon noodles on the side. Looking back, I should have gotten the smaller size, so keep that in mind when ordering.More

probably the best noodles I ever had! The line was very long but it was absolutely worth it. it was affordable too, especially in the light of Honolulu prices. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend loves this kind of food and it did not disappoint. She loved the beef udon and I liked the beef teriyaki bowl. Both dishes were sweet and you can see them make the udon noodles which is a nice site to see when...waiting. The line was long but worth the wait. I loved the local authenticity of this place. Definitely a must tryMore

Amazing noodles! Although we waited in line for over an hour it was 100% worth it. I highly recommend anyone traveling through to stop here. Don’t let the long wait steer you away from this amazing restaurant. I can’t wait to go back and eat...their amazing noodles again!More

I went out to skip the lines by showing up for breakfast. Because I was late (10:00), I ended up at the front of a loooong line for lunch. By the time it opened at 11:00, the line snaked down the street and around the...corner out of view. I got the freshly made #6 regular size udon noodle dish with sweet beef to go. I also picked up tempura big chicken katsu and zucchini. I've never had fresh udon before but I now see why people line up for it! They even had cold matcha! And it was good! It seemed like everybody in line was ok with one or a few people being in line to hold a place for their whole family. You've got to be vaxxed and have ID to dine in. So volunteer someone to line up at 10 for lunch for your gang just after 11.More

Waited in line for about an hour but it was SO worth it! We went around noon; this was our first meal on arrival to Oahu. The freshest udon in the richest, most savory sauce I think I have ever had, with your choice of...crispy tempura on the side. I was debating about what size to get, small or large, but the small was just right. It is only $1 more for large if you want some leftovers or are famished! One of my favorite meals in the islands. I ordered the curry nikutama and my husband had the nikutama. I was craving curry and it really hit the spot, but I also loved the regular nikutama. Curry one was listed as spicy but it was very mild to me. Enjoyed every slurp! We each got 3 a la carte tempuras. I had the shrimp, squid, and croquette. My husband had 2 shrimp and 1 tamagoyaki egg. Our favorite was the egg - sweet and savory which was a surprise! They call you in one party at a time. Grab a tray and place your noodle order, pick out tempura, choose a drink, then pay. There's one way in and you exit in the rear of the restaurant.More

We knew this place must be good because there was a line out the door. They made their own noodles while we watched. The dishes were beautiful and delicious! If I lived here I would definitely return!

Visited twice within 3 days, waited more than one hour each time. The line was always long from morning to night. Tried both nikutama and curry, with various tempuras. The taste was great, but did not find much speciality. I would say that it does...not worth the waiting. Anyway, seems to be a must try in Waikiki. If you do not plan to dine in, you could order online and pick up from the restaurant.More

Yes I believe there is MSG in their food. I can tell whenever I eat foods with MSG I get really thirsty afterwards and it was the case here.
