The owner of our rental house recommended this restaurant. We wanted to try "real" Hawaiian food and were not interested in a luau. The first time we stopped, they were closed to host a private event. The second time we ordered a take-out combination platter with much assistance from the young man at the counter. He was so patient with... More

So this was basically a carnitas burrito but the pork was fresh. It lacked a little flavor probably needed a local sauce I was afraid to try. Mango turnover was on point

When this place was located at Farmers Market - Ward we ate there regularly. The food was displayed for all to see and select. At this new location the food quality is just as I remembered - just the right amount of salt and excellent local beef stew and very reasonable. You may not get the oversized lau lau at... More

When on Oahu, eat here. Authentic, flavorful, and the variety on the menu is outstanding! Staff is super friendly too. Fantistic meal and experience. Forget those high price places in Waikiki. Enjoy a nice walk and eat here. You won't regret it!

its a good little eatery . They have been around for a long time . They have items like other places don't. I like the watercress salt pork. It really made me think of old times.

The first time I tried Haili's was when they were in the old Ward warehouse market area and always enjoyed their food. This was our first visit since then and we all enjoyed it very much! The place is very small, probably seating for maybe 12-15 people. The staff/owner was so friendly and we had great service. There were seven... More

For us it was the first time we tried Hawaiian food. The lady explained us the dishes so we could make a good choice. Good food and very friendly staff! I loved the banana bread!

Description
A catering business, it is also a dining establishment at the address listed. We stumbled upon this place while hungry & in the mood for local food. It is one of those hole-in-the-wall places that you hear about that may not look appealing from the outside (to non-Hawaiians), but the food is great. I had the pastelle (a spiced pork & olive stew) & the rest of our party of four had local concoctions, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. While their marketing may not be looking for diverse acclaim (a sign outside advertises "Aku - No Blood, No Skin!"), it's highly recommended if you're looking for a great example of local food.
