4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Went to the Shirokiya Village this past week and was so thrilled with the new place. It is located near Nordstrom's in the Ala Moana Center. It is much, much larger than the old Shirokiya's in terms of the food options. It is almost like being in Japan with all the different food vendors available. Since they just opened in... More

I remember the old Shirokiya location being two-floors, full of everything: arts and crafts, clothing, cooked foods, groceries etc. I was lucky enough to stand in-line for the first day of the grand opening of the new Shirokiya Japan Village walk. I love the integration of food, desserts, shops, and spiritual deities area. Although I did not have enough time... More

Shirokiya has been an Ala Moana fixture that provided Japanese goods and food to locals and visitors for years. They've moved to a larger area downstairs where the food court and goods store now occupy separate areas. We visited the food court and found a large variety of food vendors. You can try ramen, sushi, tonkatsu, and other Japanese dishes.... More

This place is mall food magnified 100x. Just relax and don't mind the crowds. Go with friends and family. Have someone save seats while other go forage for amazing Japanese/Korean/Asian food from assorted stands. Can't beat the $1 beer to quench your palate. And plenty of dessert stands to satisfy all the sweet tooths in your group!

If you like Japanese food to go - this is your place. It is huge, with rows and rows of food vendors. This new location opened a few weeks ago. We were there in the afternoon, around 3 pm - a good time to go - busy, but not too crowded. There are lots of small tables in several open... More

Idea is very good in that there are all types of Japanese food (some other Asian food types mixed in) in one cafeteria - it is huge. First issue is that the process is not streamlined yet: ordering, pricing, cleaning ... Second issue is food is average at best, tried around 5 vendors. Perhaps both issues mentioned above are due... This Japanese themed food court has well over 30 booths. Most of them serving the same stuff. It was crowded and not cheap. I found the ramen to be horrible but the wagyu steak to be very good but expensive. My wife enjoyed tempura shrimp and we all enjoyed the crepes for dessert though we waited 10 minutes+ in line... I will start this review by saying that having lived in Japan and been to the "old" Shirokiya more times than I can count, I have high expectations of a place that advertises itself as in the style of a Japanese Village walk. It was a long-awaited opening and to me, quite disappointing. I will give it a chance to... More

The "new" Shirokiya is now open. It is no longer a store with Japanese goods and groceries but rather a compilation of Local and Asian food vendors; they also have a small product area where they sell Japanese decorative products. My first impression was ample seating for 900 people and an abundant food options. On my second visit, it was... More

I visited this place for the first time in its new location for lunch today. It was really crowded with queues for most outlets. My preferred choice was to busy so i tried a japan chinese fusion booth where the staff wete friendly and offered samples. Meat was tough but flavour ok. On a positive note the beer is only... More
