This very upscale spot sits on the beach and next to several Koi Pools of fish. We shared the Asian Chicken Salad, fresh bread and a couple glasses of great Chardonnay. Aaron was a great bartender and waiter. Always there when needed and a great conversationalist. The pricing here is pretty high but you get what you pay for, excellent food and service. Great views that just sets your mind at total ease. Enjoy

My sister and I both started our careers at the Kahala Hotel & Resort when it used to be a Mandarin Oriental. This hotel through the years has not lost its class, elegance and quality offered to guests. Walking into the lobby under the famous chandeliers from the Kahala Hilton days is an experience of its own. Absolutely breathtaking. The Saturday night seafood buffet did not disappoint at the hotel's Plumeria Beach House. Actually, every single aspect surpassed our party of six's expectations. We all have dined at another hotel's buffet but, we all decided to "sail" pass that location this time and give the famed Kahala Hotel a try. We're glad we did. Every single dish on the buffet, quality ingredients and style of preparation. I applaud the culinary team. A selection of salads, sashimi that just melted on my palate. Sushi selections again with maguro of great quality and knife skills in preparation. And the hot selections. Seafood boil with clams, scallops and fish in a yummy broth. Garlic mashed potatoes that my niece's friend said was her favorite on a past visit, I understood why. Creamy, creamy, light and seasoned well. There was misoyaki butterfish, fried calamari with a sauce that was beyond yummy. There were also miso soup, assorted tsukemono, pasta Bolognese, korean chicken, smoked salmon w/ chimichuri and tasty filled bone marrow. The carving station included juicy prime rib and steamed snow and dungeness crab. For dessert, the Kahala culinary team elevated ice milk, usually just plain vanilla at most places, to a lychee-strawberry flavor with toppings like yuzu watermelon and li hing mui pineapple. And, the famous Kahala bread pudding with creme anglaise, a must try. Personalized service, attentive in every way without being intrusive and, water glasses filled with even a water glass change while on dessert was unexpected yet, a nice touch of class. And, the restaurant didn't try and pack-in dining guests, keeping this food and beverage outlet free from crowds at the buffet, minimal in noise and, didn't make the ambience feel crowded. Seating was staggered and reservations organized with the guest experience being a priority. Everything delivered during our dining experience at the Plumeria Beach House upheld standards and the famous brand of the Kahala Hotel & Resort. Outstanding in every way, understated elegance complimented with quality culinary offerings and service. This hotel is in a class of its own. We will be back, most definitely.

Do you love seafood and prime rib? Of course you do! That's just one of the many reasons why we love the Plumeria Beach House. Located in Hawaii's most elegant hotel, (The Kahala Hotel), you can't get a better dining experience while being this close to the beautiful beach. The food is always excellent and the staff is always friendly. We also love the different flavors they have here, it makes it feel like your eating at a new restaurant every time while still having the flavors you love, (prime rib). We will be back soon and often!

Just the facts: I would never have booked this had I known the outdoor restaurant was closed. We were seated in a banquet room. I booked this because of the outdoor atmosphere. After that disappointment we made it the best of it but the $125 seafood tower was just not worth the money especially when they forgot our lobster. The filet was tough. My $32 seafood salad had less than an ounce of crab meat on it. My son’s Caesar salad had boxed croutons. Our waiter disappeared after our food arrived until well after it was picked up by the bus boy and we sat around wondering if anyone was going to even offer us dessert. He apologized when he finally showed saying he had a problem with another table. I do not mind paying a lot for a good meal and this was the most expensive meal of our trip. But I want value for the meal and we did not get it here.

Aloha, Cheryl. Thank you for joining us. We are disappointed to hear that the experience was not to your satisfaction. The outdoor closing was for a maintenance issue that was not anticipated. Mahalo for letting us know.

The beautiful view doesn’t make up for sloppy attention to detail unfortunately. My eggs Benedict was served with the egg not even sitting on the top of the English muffin and the yolk was already slightly broken. The server noticed it and acknowledged that it wasn’t served correctly but made no offer to correct my order. At a restaurant of this caliber I would expect better attention to detail. Now the good news: the view is beautiful and my sons pancakes were delicious! This is a serene resort and I strongly recommend you take the time to look around and enjoy this special property.

I liked this place the first time I dined there when I organized a 30-people dinner for my employees in May 2022. So I decided to go back with friends who were celebrating their 50th B-day. When I made the reservation for seven people the restaurant failed to inform us that on Fridays and Saturdays they do not serve a la carte, and only provide a seafood buffet. This was rather disappointing to us, and seems to me the kind of thing one would point out to the guest when a reservation is made. The buffet is pricey but decent. Alas, for seven people we had no options to change to another restaurant. Also, as we were a large party, a 19% service charge was added to the bill, which seems rather excessive for a buffet, where the waitress had to provide very little service. Based on this experience, I won't be back for a third time.

Aloha! Understand your frustration, particularly with a group. Our weekend seafood buffet is noted in several places, but we can do a better job of letting guests know in advance. Apologies that you were not made aware in advance. Appreciate the feedback.

I had seen the buffet breakfast on a youtube video and decided to book it for a special birthday. The location was a very easy drive from Waikiki - around 12 minutes - and we were met by the charming and friendly valet staff who informed us that valet was free for the time we were at the restaurant. Our table was ready and in a prime spot to look over the gardens and beach. The food was plentiful, beautifully presented with some interesting choices. It's a few dollars more than other buffets at Oahu resorts but you get what you pay for. Generally it was extremely tasty and a cut above most buffet foods. The chef at the grill was a little grumpy and unhelpful but the rest of the staff couldn't have been nicer. I was given a pretty slice of rainbow cake with complements for my birthday which was a thoughtful touch. Even after our meal we were encouraged to enjoy the resort and we spent another hour walking in the gardens, beach and watching the dolphins.

nice oceanside location. Service good. Eggs Benedict not very good due to poor Hollandise (tasted like canned) and overcooked eggs. High prices for what was received. It has been way better in years past.

This was our first family outing since last year’s lockdown. We chose the Plumeria Beach House for their quality reputation and informal/open air ambiance. We celebrated a birthday and completed vaccinations. We were anxious as the restaurant was full BUT from greeters to servers - all staff were attentive, and made our party feel safe and “normal!” A special thanks to Jesse and Justin for the engaging and reassuring service. Everyone changed their original menu selection once we heard the menu presentation. The Wok fried snapper was outstanding! And the chocolate mouse cake made for a strong finish! Most memorable was the service from Jesse and Justin. Thank you all for superb experience!

Thirteen of us ate here on a buffet evening and it was easily the most overpriced and most underwhelming dining experience we had on our entire family holiday. I’ve eaten at buffet’s in Vegas that had more highlights. At $80 US dollars a head looking back we should of got up and left and dined somewhere else. Our friendly waiter was the only saving grace…….. Mahalo

A group of us recently went out to dinner at the Plumeria beach house. To say our experience was less than immaculate would be an understatement. We were seated outside on the patio for sunset and enjoyed breathtaking views. The waitstaff were all very friendly and knoweldgeable. The manager Justin Vallesteros went above and beyond. Not only was he kind, he was also very attentive to our table and answering any questions from the menu items to local activities around the island, he helped assist our servers as needed with the delivery of our dinner. The food was excellent as well. Overall it was a wonderful experience and would definitely come back again.

Incredibly unprofessional experience this evening. We had reservations for 8:30pm which we made on Open Table. At 7:30pm I called to see if we could possibly come sooner. The concierge let me know that they were fully booked and 8:30 would have to remain our dining time. No problem, or so we thought. At 8:11pm I got a call from the hostess who asked me if we could hurry and come early. I explained my earlier conversation with the concierge and she said, "oh we always tell the 8:30 reservations to come early because we stop serving at 8:30." I explained that we were 15 mins away so coming early wasn't going to be possible. She said, "Oh, well we'll just have to push your order into the kitchen as soon as you get here." SERIOUSLY! That was her answer. I explained that this was ridiculous and terrible customer service. She offered nothing but a hollow apology. We are now sitting in our hotel room waiting for Door Dash to deliver dinner which is an atrocious outcome. Shame on you Plumeria, you ruined our evening and I will make sure everyone knows about your terrible business practices.

Plumeria Beach House at The Kahala Resort is one of the best restaurants on Oahu! The food is amazingly fresh and flavorful coupled by an unrivaled view of the ocean and an even better view at sunset...absolutely heavenly! We started with several sushi pieces which were amazingly fresh and tasty! The main course was a very tender miso laced fish that tasted very much like Chilean Seabass. The flavors and aromas were very flavorful but not overwhelming. Although it is never advised to order chicken, someone ordered chicken at our table and it was absolutely tender and flavorful! The service was great but the views were even better. Though the outdoor seating may seem nice, I recommend sitting inside which gives you the same view. It is an open space which is much cooler and offers protection from the sun and all the bugs out to get you outside. Wonderful restaurant all around!

Our family of three dined Friday evening for the seafood buffet. We were seated in a beautiful outdoor area with a wonderful view of the ocean. Our server was extremely professional and prompt with our drink orders and his explanation of the buffet. The food was excellent! The variety of the different dishes was plentiful, and the snow crab legs (which you rarely find) were fresh, hot and tasty. It is an exquisite hotel and our walk around the property was a wonderful end to a beautiful dining experience.
