Benjamin's did a real good job accommodating a very large group from a local organization with food and drinks. The food was good and their service was excellent. There were also a lot of people from out of town and they were very impressed with the event. Everyone had a great time.

This could easily be a top place to eat but not unless the service improves. A local resident recommended this restaurant to us while we were on a road trip through New England. We felt totally ignored for almost 25 minutes while other folks seated after us were waited on. Our table was in full view. The weird thing is... More

Wonderful atmosphere, delicious garlic bread, great specials. Go between 4-7 for the early bird specials.

Trust me to order a tough steak. The waiter said that this is how it is meant to be - rubbish! However, once replaced by prime rib my experience was fantastic. Best steak ever.. my wife had breaded scallops which were very good. Price is reasonable and service good. Would go again.

We stopped in after a sunset sail to grab some drinks and enjoy some oysters in the bar. The atmosphere was great, and the servers friendly. Plus, you can't beat the "buck a shuck" special on Tuesdays. We'll be back!

Not only was my food bad - our waitress was rude - we asked her questions that she didn't know & she responded that she would check - she never returned to our table with a response.

We stayed two nights in Newport and our hotel recommended Benjamins - we even went both nights which we never usually do. Early bird specials are such a good deal so we both had lobster one night and the prime rib steak on the second visit. Simple but delicious food (the steaks were superb). Worth getting the house salad too,... More

We went for breakfast, its pretty average with nothing to rave about. Check your change as the waitress thought that a $50.00 note was only with $40.00. Theres plenty of better places to eat in Newport RI.
