We had a party of seven and The Mooring stated they could accommodate our group. Our table was ready when we arrived and we were promptly seated. Our waitress did everything right and the food was delicious. I found the prices to be reasonable when all things are considered and would return if the opportunity arose. It is for this... More

We arrived early and sat at the bar awaiting our seating time. Bartenders were quick and attentive. When seated we were lucky to sit outside along the railing by the water. The meal was delicious; we started with a great selection of oysters. For entrees, I had tuna and my boyfriend had cod, both were outstanding!

The evening sky was morphing and overturning itself in electric hues of violet and blue as we docked ourselves at The Mooring for a late dinner. Almost all tables, inside and out have a view of Newport Harbor and its assorted floating armada. Weather permitting, I recommend a table on the deck because you are closer to the sights, sounds... We visited for lunch after an afternoon of bike riding. We thoroughly enjoyed a bottle of white wine, local oysters, whole chilled lobster, crab, clam chowder, mussels, and Caesar salad. The mussels, lobster and clam chowder were amazing. I highly recommend coming with a big group and trying as many dishes as possible. Our server, Kieran, was knowledgeable and adorable.... More

We were looking for a picturesque place for lunch on Newport Harbor and The Mooring Met that requirement. We sat outside right on the Harbor with a great view. Service was very good with a nice and varied menu that was heavy, appropriately, on seafood. We chose the shellfish tower with a whole lobster, 6 shrimp , 6 oysters, 6... More

Service was very good. Oysters were fresh and many selections available. Good ambiance. Great history and memorabilia throughout the restaurant.

Had the clam chowder and lobster roll and both were very good but not the best. What I loved about this restaurant was the location. On the wharf with a beautiful view of the harbor. Great service too. I would go back.

Great ambiance, albeit a bit loud. If you're looking for an exciting scene, this is it, if you're looking for a quite romantic candle light dinner, not the place.

Food was great. We ordered oysters, fish-and-chips, veggie burger, and clam chowder. Everything was well-prepared and came out in a timely manner. Our servers were very attentive without being intrusive. Despite the fact that we were there at a peak time, service was smooth and we never had to ask twice for anything. Crowd noise is a bit high, so... More

My husband and I chose this restaurant based on an article, "top places in Newport for oysters". We dined in between lunch and dinner on a Sunday, outside as requested, though we were in a corner where staff does roll ups in their spare time. I'm sure specifically for our toddler, who is a good baby. The service was good,... More
