Great place for lunch. Wait was too long and it seemed like others (that tipped) got their tables first. But great view and the food was fine for lunch

We were seated at a lovely table inside. We could see the ocean but it wasn't the best seat in the house. The service and food made up for that. I was fearful that this restaurant wouldn't live up to my expectations, as we were celebrating a special occasion. Our waiter Cole, was excellent. When he seated us, "He said... More
I have lived in Newport every summer since 2003. I have seen lots of restaurants come and go but mostly I have seen The Chandlers restaurants fine tune themselves to top flight destinations. I have lots of guests and this is my favorite go-to destination to wow the fans. The setting is superb. Beautiful restored mansion at number one Cliff... More
I had one of my favorite meals ever at Spiced Pear. Every bite was an explosion of flavor. The tastes were not covered up in sauces or over spiced. The portions were the perfect size. The flambe chocolate and cherry dessert was amazing. I would love the chance to have another dinner at The Spiced Pear.
Just saying a turkey sandwich it's a huge understatement for the chef's creation. A N.E. clam chowder was different and tasty. Small quahogs were stuffed with a savory dough and chourico and presented on a bed of coleslaw. The dessert was a heavenly mixture of chocolate, banana and (I think) panna. We enjoyed all this while the puffy clouds turned... More
We started our day by taking the Cliff Walk along the Atlantic coastline in Newport. Shortly after we began, we noticed a sign for the Spiced Pear Restaurant which was located up on a hill to our right. It looked nice but we weren't focusing on eating at the time. However, on our way back to our starting point, we... More
There is a formal indoor restaurant and an outside more casual venue both attached to the Chanler Hotel. The outdoor setting is where we ate and it is truly beautiful. The food is good and the prices are high but all considered it's worth it. The carrot cake was strange and not good so we returned it and not charged-... More
We came as a large group to celebrate a friends graduation and the entire experience was excellent. Service was prompt and they had great recommendations. From the size of our party, we have just about one of everything and there wasn't a single complaint. I was pleasantly surprised to see the beef heart special, being an adventurous person, I ordered... More
Very nice restaurant with a good view! Free parking. I've visited this place twice in last month. Chicken fingers and fries from kids menu weren't good at all, neither sliders I've ordered. Unfortunately service wasn't good as well.
The Spiced Pear is the restaurant at the very elegant and expensive Hotel Chanler in Newport. The restaurant is open for all three meals, but dinner is in a separate and more elegant room than are breakfast and lunch. The menu and wine list are both first rate, and everything is a la carte (no fixed-price menus). Service is excellent... More

I want to try for the first time Beef Wellington. Does the Spiced Pear offer this? If so I want to go there for my B-day
