Stopped here after a morning of shopping. Wandered in and got seated right away. Lovely and interesting decor. We all really enjoyed our lunches. We did the 2 for 22. I had a wedge salad and warm lobster roll. So good. I had been wanting...a lobster roll since we got there so this was exactly what I was looking for. Our server and all staff were really nice. This would be a perfect spot for lunch or dinner.More

Great spot on the wharf. Friendly staff with great service. Food was off the charts. A large selection of wines. A must do for that special occasion in Newport

My wife and I spent an afternoon in Newport. After looking online at the Newport restaurants offering a Burger Bender selection, we decided on Bowen’s 22. Their competitive burger offering was a French Onion Burger, which I selected and it was great! My wife did...the 2 for 22 which was an appetizer and burger/sandwich. Our waiter was most pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our selections with a couple of draft beers. The setting and ambience are great!More

This restaurant has a great location near the waterfront and shops. Had a light lunch with only clam chowder and was delicious. Others had steak and lobster dishes which were all excellent. Stayed about an hour and a half with no rush to go anywhere....A pleasant meal for everyone.More

The food was good enough. I had clam chowder. It was my 4th chowder 3 previous in Boston. Best so far. Husband had lobster roll, OK. Service was stilted and not very friendly . This was lunch outside.

Great service. Clam chowder was good but under seasoned. Truffle Mac and cheese was excellent. Very disappointed in our $145 porterhouse. While tender, it was dry. No juices served with the steak. Just a dry steak on a plate. It came sliced but not sliced...through all the way so it had to be cut to remove the pieces from the plate. I felt like someone just really didn’t care. That shouldn’t happen in a steakhouse for that price. Perhaps I’m used to NY. Never was served like that back in NY. I won’t go back. We visit Newport every year. Was a big expensive disappointment.More

I went for lunch with my family. We had lobster rolls and they were very enjoyable. It's better to have the cold lobster rather than the warm one. The service was very good for such a large group.

Fabulous dinner and service in a beautiful atmosphere. Dined here on Tuesday September 26th celebrating our anniversary. We had shrimp, calamari, caesar salad and mixed field green salad along with lobster bisque soup and clam chowder. Everything was delicious and we had a wonderful server....We had a late lunch so we did not order entrees, which looked delicious when being served. Restaurant is beautiful, service was top notch, food outstanding. Highly recommend. It was our anniversary and they gave us two glasses of complimentary champagne that was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful night. Ellen C.More

It is very popular for good reason but the entire staff is so professional and accommodating. As we waited for the table, we sat at the bar run by a professional mixologist. Superb cocktails. The lobster roll, service and view are exceptional. Can't wait to...go back.More

We had our daughter's and so-in-law's rehearsal dinner at 22 Bowmen and it was absolutely amazing. The food was top notch and absolutely delicious. The setting and location couldn't be better. Our party was upstairs which overlooks the water with views of the downtown area...and clipper ships. Just beautiful.More

It was a lovely night for dinner on the water and 22 Bowen's was the perfect choice. Our table was near the slip for the Aquidneck and it was pleasant to watch the ships come in and go out. It is pricey, but given the...location and the delicious food, we felt it was well worth it. Our server, Felipe, was friendly and efficient and added to our enjoyment of the evening.More

Amazing food and drinks. We had such a nice waitress who was so welcoming and kind. She even made me an ice cream sundae for dessert which wasn't even on the menu! She was fantastic. Would definitely return for a great meal and overall experience.

22 Bowen is an annual stop for our trip to Newport every year and this year was no exception! My wife had a 2lb. Lobster and I ordered a NY Strip Steak with a Lobster Tail. The lobster my wife got had small claws for...a two pounder and my lobster Tail was the size of a shrimp!More

We had reservations on a Monday evening at 7:30 and were seated immediately. The location of this restaurant is right in the wharf area where all the action is, and I think that’s what your paying for. Our waitress was friendly but it was clearly...over the top friendly so it felt a bit phony. The bread and butter that was put on the table was warm and delicious. We ordered the grilled octopus for an appetizer which was definitely the winner of the evening. The Octopus was tender and tasty. For entrees we ordered the rack of lamb and the whole bronzino. The lamb was good but the bronzino was quite small for $40 and wasn’t worth it. We ordered espressos and the crème brûlée for dessert which was nothing special. This restaurant was okay but a bit pricey for what your getting. If your heart is set on eating an expensive steak then this is your place. With so many dining options in the area, I’d probably skip this one.More

Our waiter, Manny, was rude and unprofessional. First, we were talking about Martha’s Vineyard and he said there were too many democrats there. We certainly did not ask him about his political views. Second, he never asked us about our appetizers and they were not...very good. The oysters had bits of shell in them and the calamari was not crisp. Third, he asked me what I wanted to drink and then immediately walked away to serve the next table. The food was very mediocre. Besides the appetizers not being very good , the halibut was overcooked and dried out.More
