We just wanted something quick and simple before our evening tour. This is a neat pub on the wharf. You can just picture yourself sitting hear 100 years ago after a day at sea. Friendly staff and delicious food. We didn't have the entrees only sandwiches. They were tasty and plentiful.

Depending on the weather, the Black Pearl is enjoyable on the deck over looking the water, or indoors in a colonial type dining room. It's touristy, but fairly reasonably priced with a local menu and good food. Centrally located, it is convenient to many Newport attractions.

Visited this 'pub' last evening. It is not possible to book in advance to eat, so were pleased to get a table without waiting. My husband ordered clam chowder, which was excellent. Mains were, cassulet( various meats in a stew with beans, I ordered cottage pie. Mine was very tasty and my husband enjoyed his stew( very generous portion) Desserts... More

To quote Capt Jack Sparrow, "not all treasure is silver and gold, mate". Here at this Black Pearl, the treasure is the food. We made the reservation because of the positive TripAdvisor reviews. The three criteria for a restaurant that are important to us - Food, Service and Atmosphere - were all properly met here. The restaurant has two seating... More

This restaurant was pretty busy for a Thursday night, so the waitress initial took some time to get our food orders. However the service did improve as the night went on. Good menu options especially for teenagers. Burger was tasty. Somewhat disappointing draft beer options. Needs more variety and better quality brewers in my opinion. Have eaten lunch at their... Went here for dinner our first night in Newport. Called for reservations and hostess mentioned a dress code and absolutely no jeans. Fine but when we walked in, the first two people we saw were in jeans. So about that dress code. Food was mediocre - shrimp scampi came w veggies and scalloped potatoes, well 2 potatoes slices to be... More

We had received a recommendation from our trolley bus driver. We wanted to eat outside but there was a wait for a table with an umbrella so we chose to eat inside. I will say the food was good the chowder was alright. My husband had the bacon, tomato and grilled cheese. He said it was much better than the... More

If you do, you'll love the Black Pearl. It's in a great location and has friendly service and good food. It's a perfect place to hang out in the summertime and survey the local scene. This is the type of place you can spend hours with friends drinking and laughing the evening away.

We went to the Black Pearl for dinner one night. Started with a small cup of clam chowder and was disappointed we didn't get a LARGE bowl instead. Best chowder we have ever had!! We also had a delicious dinner of monkfish and halibut. But we kept dreaming about that chowder... Solid service and great food- we will return again!!!
