Love to bring Dad to The Pearl for Father's Day. We have been going there for decades and found it to be losing it's gusto. Fries just OK, used to be amazing. Warm chicken tarragon salad and pickle. Old bacon and bread. Sound picky? Well...More

Loved their clam chowder. There late evening so super busy. Waitress did OK until the bill. Had asked her to separate our table of five for payment when we ordered. Not done. Took three tries at the end for her to get the bill right....More

We had burgers for lunch, outside on the water. The food was good, service was quick and friendly. Drinks were OK. The view of the harbor is the best part of this restaurant.

Chowder was sparse, watery and not very tasty. Inside dining was cramped, hot and we were constantly getting bumped into. Service was slow and our waiter could not keep the orders straight, we played musical plates ! A horrible hundred dollar lunch, never again.

It was a late arrival in Newport and a bit hungry, so a quick meal in a traditional Newport spot was just the ticket. It is a noisy restaurant but the food is good and the service is fine. Chowder is my favorite.

We had eaten lunch here twice before during the week, when the BlAck Pearl was slammed with business, but they took good care of us then. Today, however, was a different story. We sat outside where perhaps an eighth of the tables were occupied. We...More

Stopped in here on a cold Friday December night after getting into town, just looking for a drink and a snack. I wish I could recall the bartender’s name as he was amazing. We sat at the bar, he recommended apps which included chowder &...More

We were five for dinner and had a blast. Our server Mya was knowledgeable, fun and made our night memorable. The food was great, especially the clam chowder. When in Newport, definitely consider the Black Pearl.

It's my understanding that the Tavern side is open for lunch and dinner, but the Commodore's Room only has dinner hours.
