You wouldn't expect to find a restaurant serving Mexican cuisine in a building from the 18th Century - but that is exactly what Perro Salado is. As a matter of fact, if you were walking by and weren't looking for it - you would probably...More

Friday night, 9:30 pm. We are local, residing two blocks away, and regular customers ALL YEAR long. They served us drinks, and then abruptly closed and refused to serve us food. How lame and how sad that the service staff didn't even care to give...More

First time visit. It is a very old house with many little rooms and 2 small bars. Lots of ambience. The menu is simple but the food is well prepared. It is much lighter fare than most Mexican restaurants. Portions are good but not huge....More

This is a nice, intimate Mexican restaurant that does a great job at seafood dishes. I highly recommend the scallop tostada. For the quality (and quantity) prices are very reasonable. I will go back the next time I visit Newport.

Perro Salado is a really fun restaurant in downtown Newport in an old colonial house so there’s like 3 tables per room which ends up being a really fun environment. There’s also a great outdoor patio. The grilled Caesar salad is excellent a bit of...More
