We had a wonderful dining experience with top notch service and cuisine! We started with the mussels which were good and the French onion soup which was amazing. Huge chunks of tender short rib in the soup came as a delightful surprise. For entrees, the...server recommended the lobster pasta which was homemade and full of lobster, as well as the scallops, which were exceptional.

Wonderful atmosphere and very nicely decorated. Seating was prompt and comfortable table settings. Bread was very good (white and rye), chewy with a great crust along with a terrific accompanying flavored oil. Next up was the absolutely incredible gnocchi mac and cheese. This was a...truly incredible dish - gnocchi in a creamy mushroom sauce covered with melted cheese, scallions, and pancetta. If you try only one thing, get this!!! For the main, we had the rib eye steak and salmon. Salmon was superb. Rib eye steak was covered in gorgonzola crust. Cook wasn't quite what i ordered, flavor was good but a bit lacking. For dessert we tried the toffee cake - the carmel sauce was nice but with a bit of a burned taste. The cake itself was a bit dense and heavy for my taste. Service was quick at the beginning, but ordering dessert took about 15 minutes. While somewhat attentive and friendly, the service was not consistent with an upscale restaurant.More
Caesar salad was o.k. but the dressing had very little flavor. The potato croutons were actually the highlight of the meal and were yummy.
The rib eye was one of the most disgusting things I've ever had at any restaurant anywhere. I ordered it medium...and it came out raw (yes, literally raw, 75% of the inside of the steak was dark purple). As much as I hate to ever send food back, I had no choice. Unfortunately their solution wasn't much better. They clearly just threw the steak (with the gorgonzola topping still on it) on to the grill, as when it came back out it tasted like nothing but char. On top of that, the "sauce" was gross. It had no flavor. It was basically just heavy grease.
To cap it all off, desert was basically a warm Wegmans muffin sitting in a bed of caramel. Tasty, but far from something I'd expect from a "fine dining" dessert.
Ambiance was fantastic. Service was good but nothing special. Drinks were very good. Food was just awful.More
Wonderful dinner! We shared the cassoulet and gnocchi appetizers and had the seared tuna and chicken entrees. It was all amazing - I am still salivating over the tuna. Even the oil shared for the bread was unique and special. We stuck to cocktails -...even though it’s a wine bar - and the cocktails were stellar. We would love to come back if we’re back in Buffalo.More
For a recipient of the James Beard award I had some expectations. The service was fine though not special. Having been a fine dining server myself for years I know what good service entails.
And my filet was cold in the centre. I ordered it...Chicago rare. It was Chicago cold. Any chef knows that meat should be at room temp to begin. They clearly pulled it from the fridge then seared it. I sent it back but of course to have it now no longer be cold it was brought up to a med-rare-med. Not what I ordered. Wouldn’t return.More
