Terrible staff, unfriendly, menu unclear. You have to share during Covid times. Staff up front wouldn’t give additional photo to other party.More

We went to the Buffalo location for Melting Pot in July 2020. This was our first time at that location but we have been to the Syracuse location at least a dozen times prior to them shutting down that location. We have visited the Melting...Pot in Rochester and in Orlando. The Rochester experience wasn't the greatest but they were going through some personnel changes at that time so I won't hold them accountable or write a craptastic 1-star review. We'll try them out again in the future and I'll write a review at that time. Anyway, PLEASE COME BACK TO SYRACUSE. The Buffalo location was clean, the manager was great, the waitress was awesome and the food perfect like usual. There's usually the Wife, 3 kids and myself so depending on cocktails, it's usually $180-$220 per visit for dinner. We always get the multiple course with a couple different cheese fondues. The first thing you have to understand is that if you're going for an experience, like a true fondue experience, it's not going to be cheap like a dinner for 5 at Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse. The second thing you have to know is that you will be there a while. I think our quickest dinner ever was about 2 hours. If you are going for the full experience and not just to post on FB or Instagram that you are there, then you will be literally cooking your own dinner. The full experience will take at least an hour and half or longer. Before COVID, they would bring a bunch of cool stuff out to your table and turn it into an awesome cheese fondue. Because of COVID, it's all made in the kitchen and they bring it out to you premixed and it heats up on your table. I highly recommend the Wisconsin Cheddar fondue and Bourbon Bacon Cheddar fondues. They will bring out an unlimited assortment of breads, fruits and vegetables to dip in the cheese before they bring out your salad. Plan on spending at least 20-30 minutes enjoying the cheese fondues. The second course is the salad and prior to them leaving Syracuse, we used to get the California Wedge which was bomb. Now, we get the Melting Pot House and the California. Their house dressing is great and you will need to order extra. Main Course is what it's all about and plan on spending no less than 40-50 minutes eating this course because you will be cooking your own food. I prefer the French Quarter or the Steak Lovers but substitute out the teriyaki and get everything completely covered with the Cajun seasonings. There are several different cooking styles to choose from and you will need to think carefully about what you want to cook your food in. We've tried them all and personally, we go with Bourguignonne for the meats, potatoes, mushrooms, etc. The Bourguignonne style is oil. You will essentially be deep-frying your food and a minute for the beef, lobster and shrimp works best for me. They will explain cooking times when they bring everything out but I like my proteins under-cooked. We also occasionally get the Mojo cooking style just for the vegetables and some of the chicken and fish. You will be boiling your food with the Mojo method. The last course and possibly the best part of the whole experience is the dessert fondue. They will bring you out unlimited fruits, cakes, brownies, Oreo-covered marshmallows, etc., to dip into the melted chocolate. I personally recommend the Flaming Turtle and S'Mores. This usually takes a good 20 minutes to heat up, eat and enjoy. Please keep in mind that things are a little different than they were before COVID so if you are going back after a long period of time, it's not the same as it used to be as far as presentation, but the food and drinks are still awesome.More

My husband and I chose a 4 course option which began with a fresh good-sized dinner salad with great choices for dressings. Next course was a Gruyere based cheese fondue accompanied by fresh breads and vegetables for dipping. (Yum!) The next course included proteins to...be cooked to your own personal preference of doneness into a hot savory tabletop-heated broth. High quality steak slices, pork, chicken and shrimp. If that wasn't enough (!) we chose the Yin/Yang chocolate fondue as a final course. Fresh strawberries, cakes, brownies and cocoa dusted marshmallows were DELECTABLE as the featured dippers into a high quality white and dark chocolate bath. Photos do not do it justice. There was a sale of bottled wines so we opted for a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. Perfection! We LOVED the individual attention from servers Molly and Christian, who displayed an excellent level of care, knowledge and professionalism. We also truly enjoyed the individual private dining booths which certainly added to the total enjoyment of our evening out!More

Me and my daughter went here for dinner. The waiter was new and didnt really know the menu or how to cook the food. The other waiter who was assisting this waiter was not very knowledgeable either. After leaving this restaurant I got very sick...and won't go into detail to spare getting someone else sick who may read this.More

One friend & 12 family members ate here, to celebrate my neice's birthday! We had a Patient waitress, that explained everything to us, in addition to answering many questions! We had a whole room to ourselves! Everyone was raving about the fun of doing it...yourself, the quality of the food, the interesting restaurant! The manager even came in, to inquire how everything was going!? They all want to return!! This is mainly a Fondue Diner!!More

We had a family dinner here and as usual it was awesome. We had 4 people- 2 who opted for the grill style to cook their meat, and 2 of us vegetarians who used the Mojo and had the Good Earth Vegetarian meal. We had...a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. The restaurant was clean. We had both the Quattro Formagio and the classic cheddar cheese course and both were delicious. The salads were good. The wait staff (Logan was our waiter, but many others also helped- including the manager Tyler) was attentive to refilling drinks and asking if we needed anything else. The entrees were plenty filling, even if initially looking at it seemed like it was small. We all were almost stuffed before the chocolate course even started. But since we had done the 4 course option we did proceed with chocolate, of course! We had the dark and dulce, and the s'mores. The s'mores has a wonderful flambe at the table to toast the marshmallow in! There was a great variety of dippers and we had plenty to take home for later snacking. Overall a great experience.More

It had been several years since we last dined at Melting Pot and we noticed a number of changes - most not for the better. The biggest was a change in the way your cheese fondue is prepared. Previously all the ingredients - including the...cheese - were prepared right in front of you. Now the fondue is brought out pre-mixed, undoubtedly to save on time and money. The California salad is also not as good and smaller than it used to be. We still enjoyed our meal with the highlight being The Original chocolate fondue - very tasty and plenty of different bits to dip and eat. Prices remain very fair including $11 for a large glass of wine (8 oz) and we enjoyed our service (thanks to Shaquille). We were seated in the back portion of the restaurant which includes small tables in tucked away in enclosed spaces allowing for privacy. The main dining room hasn't changed in years and suffers from not having any windows (being in a mall doesn't help).More
