Smaller bar in downtown Buffalo. Conveniently located. Beef on weck was delicious and buffalo dip were very good. Not really a place for kids, more of a bar than a restaurant. Kid's pasta was very bland and boring. Dessert donut with ice cream - donut...was disgusting, burnt and poor-tasting. Staff were very friendly, wonderful group of people.More

Our group of 6 ate at this restaurant for the very first time, after the matinee of Escape From Margaritaville at Shea's. First we enjoyed their Buffalo's Best Wing Dip plus some of Community Beer Works Let's Go Pills! lager. We then had the Nickel...City Mac and Cheese (2), Mac Kelsey Burger (2), plus a Philly Steak and one Casey's Tavern Beer Batter Fish Fry (1/2). All the food was good, but the Philly Steak just average. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and we liked the atmosphere. The chairs were somewhat uncomfortable as they were very high from the ground.More

My sister and I were headed to Shea's to see a show and we wanted someplace close to there we could walk to so we decided on this bar. My sister ordered the quesadilla and a side of mac and cheese. She said the mac...and cheese was delicious very cheesy and creamy, however she did not get salsa with her quesadilla which is the best part and when we asked the server she said they don't use enough of it to buy the big restaurant size jugs so they don't serve salsa with quesadillas so it only came with sour cream which was a bummer. I had the grilled turkey and candied bacon sandwich but switched it to ciabatta bread instead of the wheatberry bread it comes on then I asked for a tomato and a piece of lettuce to put on it which the server immediately brought over. It came and it was delicious and it had home made chips on the side which were crispy and fresh. I would for sure eat here again, it was very quiet in there when we arrived about 5:30 but by the time we left at 7:10ish the place was full all tables and the bar had a pretty good crowd too. They also have about 4 tables outside looking down the street that is covered with an awning for nice evenings A nice place to hang with friends for a drink or a bite to eat if you are in the downtown area.More

We visited Local for an impromptu early afternoon meal. Food was tasty, although the pasta dish arrived not exactly as described. Chicken sandwich was good. Servers nice. We may try it again.

Our adult family of 4 ate here for dinner and enjoyed our visit immensely. We sat outside, although the building itself is historical and has nice character and curb appeal. For dinner, we ordered alcohol (beer & wine) from the bar, as well as the...two specials on their COVID19 menu -- almond-breaded chicken strips and the braised short ribs with pierogies. Both were delicious! The chicken had a great texture with the almonds, and the cranberry orange butter was sweet though not overpowering (went really well with the swwwt potato fries!). The pierogies were slightly underdone in some areas, but still paired beautifully with the braised short ribs. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for its quality food and the enjoyable dining experience.More

We were staying nearby and found this restaurant when we were walking down the street looking for a place to eat. We were so impressed with the experience. I was there with my daughter and when we sat down and ordered a drink, it hit...us how exhausted we were. The staff very kindly offered to make our meal to go, and took the time to chat with us about our visit - on a busy Saturday evening. The Food was absolutely DELICIOUS (try the beef on weck) and the fries are so good. My only disappointment was that I'm not a beer drinker (the wine was great though) and everyone raves about their choices :)More

Friendly service, great food and fun atmosphere to watch a Bills football game! The staff kept up the pace on a busy night to keep glasses full and fresh food coming out quickly. Homemade chicken tenders were delicious! We will visit again!

Great food, great service, and great local beer! Definitely recommend coming here!!! Beef on Weck is legit and the avocado chix salad is super yummy! Ordered the brussel slaw, but preferred the fat curly fries (because the slaw was sweet with dried cranberries, of which...I am not a fan of). Service was prompt and food came out quickly. Bartender did a great job of recommending IPAs of our liking. Will definitely return here the next time in town.More

Like an old Buffalo Gin Mill with a twist. Featuring Buffalo dishes updated and using local ingredients. Everything was fresh and hot and service was great! Cool atmosphere too. We will be back.

We arrived 75 min before showtime at Shea’s and hoped to grab a quick bite. The 6 of us were seated promptly and we ordered right after our waters arrived. I had a beef on weck, and the others went for a cheeseburger and chicken...sandwich . The ladies had various salad combinations. A tasty Genesee Octoberfest was our choice, and had no hoppy aftertaste like some others. Our food arrived in short order and we were done in plenty of time for the short walk to Shea’s for the show. The price was very reasonable and our waitress made sure we had everything we needed . The inside has a rustic feel to it, with many pictures and evidence of older breweries such as Hamm’s and Iroquois. Avoid the pricier places and make this stop for great, local food at fair prices!More

While touring historic sites in Buffalo, on my way back to the hotel I stopped in for lunch. What a great choice. Food is locally sourced, much of the decor and fixtures are from the area and repurposed. A great local beer was suggested, very...knowledgeable bar manager, and more than enough food than I needed. If it was bad I could've left it, but it was spot-on. I can't wait to return here.More

We attempted to stop in here for lunch but were turned away as our group was too large to be accommodated at the time, so we went a second time for a late dinner. We were in town for the Frozen Four, and happened to...get seated at the bar. Regular dinner service had stopped, so we settled for some of their specialty sandwiches. The Delaware Park Chicken Sandwich was amazing, and they have a great selection of craft beers. I hated that we didn't have time to try the regular dinner menu, but there's always next time.More

We had over 25 people in our group and this was an excellent venue for our evening together! They were able to keep us all together without disrupting other patrons and the wait staff was phenomenal. They supported separate checks, somehow kept everyone’s bill organized,...and we’re energetically attentive. No one in our group went more than a few minutes with an empty glass or empty dirty plate in front of them. The time for the food to come took a little longer than normal but that was because they tried to have all of our meals come out about the same time. They did great! Also, even with such a large group, the acoustics of the place did not make it crazy loud (unlike the place we went the next night that just seemed to amplify the noise to uncomfortable levels). I highly recommend the Local Kitchen and Beer Bar for a good meal and night cap.More
