About
After opening in 1975, The Horsemen Lodge quickly became a popular hangout for Babbitt cowboys working on the CO Bar ranch. The restaurant-named "Horsemen" in the effort to pay homage to the ranching lifestyle-is decorated with authentic cowboy attire, memorabilia, and artwork. This way, The Horsemen Lodge doesn't just offer a hearty, cowboy-inspired menu, but it also offers an overall Southwestern experience.

Best clam chowder I've ever had. Absolutely everything at this restaurant was delicious! Wonderful salad, Even the cucumbers on the salad bar tasted marinated! Everything is made there and it shows. Super fresh food, and the best steak you'll ever set your mouth on! We...went twice during our Southwest vacation! Even on a Tuesday night the restaurant was busy. I'd recommend reservations. Wish we had a Horseman Lodge in NC!More

Had a great time and food is fabulous! First off, we loved the ladies on horseback who greet you at the door. Very cool touch. We went to Celebrate our son’s “milestone” bday. We had to drive an hour and half and do a significant...online search to find the right restaurant he would like (not too fancy, but great food, comfortable ambiance) and this was perfect. The steaks were extremely tender and well seasoned (and we own restaurants too, so we’re a bit picky w/ meat.) The cocktails and beers well presented and delicious. Service was quick and kind. This is a strong team and the care. Thank you for a great night!More

The Horseman Lodge is approximately 8 miles Northeast of Downtown Flagstaff and an easy drive. The Lodge has nice rustic western décor, lots of wood, tables, booths and a separate sports bar. They can easily accommodate very large parties and group functions. We found the...Lodge to be decorated nicely for the holidays (photo attached). The male half of IllyCoffeeDrinkers and a family member went here for a late breakfast on a December Friday. The restaurant was quiet since they were in between breakfast and lunch and preparing to host several large holiday luncheons. As a result, we received excellent service from a friendly and helpful staff member as well as a table visit by a manager. The Breakfast Menu offers many hearty options including Steak and Eggs, Cinnamon Roll French Toast, a Vegetarian Garden Mixer with Sautéed Spinach and Vegetables served on Home Style Potatoes and topped with Pepper Jack Cheese, and a Pork Tamale with Eggs. One of us has ordered a classic American breakfast of Scrambled Eggs, Sausages, Potatoes and Gluten Free Toast (when available) throughout the United States. For comparison, an order of Scrambled Eggs, Sausage Links, Home Fries with Peppers and Onions, and Fruit as a Bread substitute was placed (photo attached). We also ordered their Horseman Benedict with a Grilled English Muffin, thickly sliced Canadian Bacon, Poached Eggs and Hollandaise Sauce, and a side of Fruit (photo attached). All the food was well cooked, and the portions were reasonable. The coffee was mild and refilled regularly without us having to ask. For Breakfast, we rate The Horseman Lodge (a locally owned business) a cut above standard I-Hop and Denny’s breakfast fare. Admittedly, the big chains are reliably predictable but at times their food seems to have been prepared (or at least measured out) by accountants. Bottom line, if you are in the area and are looking for a good meal while surrounded by rustic western décor, this restaurant is worth a try. This is a below average steakhouse that tries to attract tourists and tourist busses with the illusion of the “west” while distracting actual diners with two “wild game” options. Note to Mgt: your bathrooms are completely unacceptable. Handles are missing, fixtures are broken, huge double...fist sized holes are punched through the stall doors and they are stuffed with toilet paper to block the view into the stall. Are you kidding me!?! I was hosting guests and embarrassed. I had to ask (in Spanish) that the space be cleaned and the paper products be replenished. I don’t understand where the positive reviews for the salad bar come from. I had to ask the staff to please stir or replace the very sad salad bar bins. The overall decor is simply old, tacky and cheap. Thinly varnishing your plank walls and ceiling and positioning two old stuffed mountain lions and a lonely bear seems very lazy and cheap. The actual steaks were prepared as ordered. The baked cookie and corn bread were good, three stars for each. I’m not a rookie. I first moved to Flagstaff in 1984, went to college here in the early 90s and moved back in 1997. I have NEVER eaten here in all those years. That’s weird. I guess locals don’t consider it a priority. That’s the curse of image over reality. I travel around the world for business, 180 days a year. I eat more than 6 out of 10 meals at restaurants. I won’t be back.More

I wanted "real food" which means steak, and I wasn't disappointed. The staff was friendly, the server even gave her glasses to my husband so he could read the menu. Cornbread served to the table was small, but enough (with pieces of corn and hot...peppers in it.) Sirloin was fantastic; husband said "best I've had in a long while". Tbone was tasty; mashed potatoes good. Salad bar nice, soup good. Onion rings great and not greasy. I did not like the Merlot butter sauce, and got my steak the second night with the house seasoning, but my husband loved the Merlot butter. Everyone is different. I recommend if you are looking for a good steak.More

Easily the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. We made a reservation at 7. Showed up at 7 and were seated. We did not see a server for 30 minutes. Went to the bar for drinks, asked if we had a server. Waited another...15 and then left. Everyone I spoke with was rude and treated me as if I was an inconvenience. I can understand if your short staffed, but it did not seem busy. At least have the common courtesy of telling customers there will be a wait and give them the option to go somewhere else instead of wasting their time. Never coming back. Do not go here. This is the first bad rating I’ve ever given a restaurantMore

There is a nice rustic bar right inside the lodge and at least four breweries and several bars in flagstaff (10 minutes down the road)
