Not only does the Northern Light serve outstanding coffee and expresso but also it offers tasty bakery items -- in particular, cookies. If you are looking for a place for a good brew and snack, look no farther.

From out of town, we stopped for the smore hot chocolate. It was excellent, staff was very friendly, and enjoyed the quaint loft area with our beverages.

This place has improved a lot over the years. If you are a local adult try to avoid during the school year as it gets swamped with students who think its "cool"

I would give it five stars, except sometimes they play hard rock music, making it difficult to concentrate on the laptop work, and also when I bring guests we all decide we have to find a different coffee shop, without the hard rock music. Food...is great too. Would come more often if they would skip the hard rock and go with music that one can converse in.More

Visiting for a family wedding and stopped for a Saturday morning coffee. They opened a little late for a coffee shop. Atmosphere was pleasant, but not unique. Stff was very friendly and attentive. Coffee was good, but not special. The espresso was a little bitter...and was an extremely small serving - only a quarter of a tiny espresso cup. I would come back, but be a lot more specific about my order. Many of the better pastry options are not baked on the premises, so are not as fresh as I would have liked.More

Sorry for the pun. But seriously, stopped in for two lattes with my wife. Great little coffee shop. Too bad we aren’t local to the area. The barista poured a nice latte. The espresso had a nice crema and the milk was steamed to perfection.

I went here on my way up to Canada and it was a well deserved stop. Early morning crowd (relatively empty), quick service, and some of the best espresso I've had. The locally roasted beans offered some sweet fun flavors in the espresso. I usually...never ask where the beans come from but these were so good. If you have a chance to stop by, I definitely recommend. There's parking out front (on the street) and a beautiful park across the street with plenty of murals and statues. Staff was friendly and willing to answer questions as well! As an added benefit, you can also buy the art off the walls for relatively low prices. Highly considered it!More

Our coffees were made perfectly, the foods we ordered (breakfast burritos, yogurt parfait, bagel and muffins) were fresh and delicious. They have board games and a sweet little spiral staircase that adds a nice little touch. Glad we stumbled upon it.

We stopped by on a slow morning, my husband ordered a coffee, everything bagel and two donuts. Coffee roast was good, donuts were OK. Sadly the bagel was not so good, it was basically a plain bagel with a few seeds on it, you had...to toast it yourself at the shared toaster. There are lots of places to sit and read, lighting was nice. We would like to try the lunch menu next time we're in town.More
