I have been going to Peacock for many years and have always had excellent food prior to Covid. Since it is take out only I noticed a big difference with how the food is prepared. I usually order egg foo yung as it is the...best around but the last few times I got home the pancakes were burnt on one side. When this happens they should remake them not cover it up! I also had a similar issue with the General Chings Chicken being hard and stringy like it was old and they reused it. I literally have been going here for the last 30 years but I will take my business elsewhere now!More

Decided to do takeout last night and we were pleasantly surprised. Having been there in the past and having only mediocre experiences we were leery but they were convenient. We ordered a Special C combination plate with General pork, pork fried rice and chicken wings...and the beef teriyaki appetizer and the barbecue ribs appetizer (both were the small orders). The appetizers were great, the beef was tender and not overly salty and the spareribs were meaty and tender as well. Everything was great and the portions plentiful. My husband and I ate well and have enough left over for two more meals. I don’t know if they have changed management recently or changed chefs but we are hopeful things remain as they were this time.More

I heard this place used to be very good. Well two weeks ago I went there and our order was $80 the poo poo platter for 4 was very skimpy. The egg rolls tasted strange not sure what was in it and the customer service...was poor we ask for extra duck sauce they act like we were asking for an arm and a leg will not return.More

1st off they shorted us 2 items on the take out order. The fried rice was very salty & the Egg Rolls had a funny taste. The Boneless Spareribs, Crab Rangoon & Lo Mein were pretty good.

This restaurant serves large portions but the taste and quality of the fried rice and chicken dish left a whole lot to be desired. The pork in the fried rice was excessively overdone and tough. The rice was drenched in sauce and all the flavor...was overpowered. Again, the meat in the chicken dish was way over cooked. An egg roll was massive but tasty. The food used to be better at this place. I always seem to get the same waiter who is unfailingly abrupt; he forgets about me until it's time to drop the check. I'm not going back to Peacock.More

We have been searching for a suitable replacement for Chinese food since the Hu Ke Lau in Longmeadow closed a year and a half ago. Peacock Chinese Restaurant fared very well in this quest. We got take-out for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised at...the similarities to Hu Ke Lau food. The menu is very similar as well. I got the lunch special "B" which included a generous portion of pork fried rice, moo goo gai pan and a very tasty egg roll. My partner got the sweet and sour chicken with white rice. He enjoyed his meal very much. Portions were huge for lunch....I wonder how much more the dinner offerings would have in them. We did not try any soup at this time, but I am looking forward to another visit soon.More

I've been trying to find a place that has great Chinese food. It hasn't happened. Went for lunch. Ordered lunch plate with substitution of boneless ribs in place of chicken fingers. Cost was $3 more per plate. Also ordered side of chicken wings (xtra crispy)...and egg roll. Can you say "soaked in oil"? Ribs were All Fat..Chicken wings were rubbery and dripping with grease. When I complained.. I was told it was because they don't use flour. I've fried chicken wings. What a ridiculous response. The egg roll was soaked with oil dripping off it..Talk about clogged arteries. Needless to say..Didn't feel well for days after this luncheon nightmare.More

Been going here for years but I think this will be the last visit. The food last night was terrible. Obviously old and reheated. There was also some black specks mixed in that resembled mouse droppings but we don't really know for sure obviously. Let's...just say we couldn't eat the food and we won't be returning. They've been going steadily downhill for the last year or so anyway. They also tried to charge extra for hot mustard.More

We picked up a $160 order this past weekend for a party. There was a large foreign object inside one of the dumplings. We brought it back to show them and they totally refused to accept any responsibility for it. We weren't looking for a...refund, but after being a loyal customer for well over 25+ years and spending thousands of dollars, being accused of lying is totally unacceptable. The Honorable thing to do was to apologize and try to make it right somehow. DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH. They are not honest.More

We showed up at 9:30 pm on a weeknight and were warmly welcomed into the empty room. Our waiter was less thrilled at our arrival. "I can't believe they let you in," he said. "I'm leaving at 10." Somehow, his unfiltered honesty only added to...the experience. We ordered like the wind, barely glancing at the menu. The food was fantastic - especially the vegetable fried rice. I asked if they had Chinese beer. "I guess," the waiter replied with a shrug. We could not stop laughing, or eating. We were out the door by 10. People get worked up and indignant about "rudeness." I understand, but if you're in the right mood, with the right friends, and the food is great, why not relax? The waiter was honest, minced no words, and offered no false cheer. I recall him fondly, and hope to see him next time. Perhaps slightly earlier.More

This was absolutely the worst Chineese food we have ever ordered. To say it rated a '1' is too high a rating. Honestly , $48 completely wasted.
