Chef wayne and company are a culinary force to be experienced in the Springfield area, at any time, but during the Fat Tuesday celebration all the stops are removed, and party central takes on a whole new meaning. When I first discovered Cajun cuisine it was delightful but it wasn't until I noticed the line of people waiting to get... More

The Big Mamou has been a long time favorite and we love the character of this New Orleans restaurant. They do not accept reservations and just recently starting accepting charge cards. After hearing all the great things about the Mamou, the boss decided to treat us to a "take out" lunch. Unfortunately they do not deliver so a colleague went... More

Wow! This little place packs a big punch of Cajun flavors! At affordable prices and large portions, we had to take dessert to-go! Not an easy decision for this sweet tooth Texas girl. Locals definitely frequent this place as the wait staff hug on everyone there. We ordered the red beans and rice with grilled chicken and the meatloaf OMGosh!... More

Wayne and his marvelous stuff treat everyone to friendly, warm and down home good eating. When I'm in town, this is the first place to go for lunch or dinner, hands down. From the crab quesadillos to the pulled pork to the red beans or jambalaya -- it's all good. Thanks Wayne and long live the Big Mamou.

Tastes like Louisiana isn't an overstatement at all. The jambalaya has that genuine taste, with all the right flavors and heat... hot but not blazing like some places try to do to compensate for a lack of the right seasonings. Servers polite and attentive. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Never would have expected to find delicious New Orleans style food in Springfield, MA. The gumbo is just about as good as it gets ANYWHERE (I've had it three times) and the cornbread is amazing. The whimsical decor and friendly staff make the experience thoroughly enjoyable. Plus, it's easy to get to, right off I-91, and I've never had any... More

I have been here several times and each time is a different revelation. The food is as authentic as it gets, in a very quirky and unique environment with fun and super-friendly staffing. The byob policy is brilliant and is you're lucky enough for Chef Wayne to be in during your visit then you may be in for even more... More

Every time we have visited this establishment we have left saying "we need to come back." The food is homemade and delicious. The bread pudding alone is worth the visit! It is BYOB which makes the restaurant affordable. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. It's not fancy but it is wonderful
