They have not changed their menu since 2012. They've had a huge following and their food is really good but they refuse to change, add or experiment. I get the feeling that the chefs are tired of doing this and need to move on to...something else. They did a great job of offering delivery service during covid-19 but now the pandemic is passed, they continue to limit their hours and their space to the point where if you walk in and the place is empty they ask you if you have a reservation and turn you away. They now close at 7 pm. Lol! They also tell you that their tapas bar has changed to "reservations only" and it's on their Facebook page but the truth is the last post on their Facebook page was in 2020. They don't care. Go elsewhere.More

The calamari is interesting and well prepared with a little spiciness, big enough for two or three people or a whole meal for one. The paella doesn’t cut the mustard, but it’s huge (might feed four) and the scallops are excellent. Our service was sincere...but amateurish. Ludvig’s seems to be revered by the locals but definitely isn’t the best restaurant in town.More

This is a gem! I have tried every entree on the menu over the years and have never been disappointed. A Mediterranean venue that blends in the seafood fresh caught and prepared the same day. I have also had their lamb chops and Bistro steak...that are seasoned and cooked to perfection, which in my case is medium rare. Collette, the owner, has maintained a quality of fine dining in a unique and small setting. Highly recommended. Due to the Covid-19 situation it was take out only this year and they pulled together a system of preparation and pick up that was amazing.More

We were in Sitka when the state first opened up to visitors after being closed for the pandemic. Most Restaurants were closed. Ludvig's Main place was only doing takeout orders. Here is the surprise. They have a little sandwich shop on the water front by...the Sitka Science Center and near the Totem Park. It's not listed in any of the tourist information. We had been there five years early when we discovered the amazing clam chowder. We were so pleased to see that it was still open for business. We had to eat outside on the picnic tables, but it was way worth it. While we were there several cars, local folks I guessed, drove up to pick up their orders of the great colder. The chowder is spicy, the clams were tender, and the flavor made me want to lick the bole.More

As a lover of food and cooking this place made the top of my list as best place to eat in Sitka. You likely will need to make a reservation and I recommend the day or two before hand. The menu had good options and...we enjoyed the appetizers and main courses we ordered. Highly, highly recommended!More

the food is excellent. It is a small little place that is very expensive. Try to make a reservation. It is only open in the summer time so it caters mostly to the tourist but it is delisious

We had dinner at Ludvig's with friends and had a lovely evening and meal. Service, food, wine, atmosphere - everything was excellent! We had a lot of fun and the staff were really helpful. The meals were a generous size and provided lunch the next...day. The paella is to die for. Can't recommend them highly enough!More

Fresh off the Boat or fresh off the plane Ludvig’s should not be missed. The seafood pialla is a phenom! Someone in your party should order this dish. Just be sure to plan ahead and make a reservation as seating is limited and it is...a popular place. Bon Appetite!More
