My fiancé and I stopped here for lunch, ( going back tomorrow 8/28) we went looking for this tent! Unless your getting off a cruise ship or a local it was a bit harder to find from justnthe sign on th road..... But was so...worth the circle we made tomfind it!
We both had the king crab, and it was so fresh and hot! Cooked perfectly, steamed.
When we walked in we saw the chef (or so I assumed was the chef) at a table actually cracking the king crab open and pulling the meat out for an older couple. It was very kind of her to do,it all for them.
Tomorrow I plan on having the fresh live Dungeness crab for lunch. The price is market price so it’s really average for AK and worth the very buttery sweet cent!
I also got myself a baseball cap, I will probably get a sweatshirt this next time.
No matter how you visit Sitka this is a defiant must!
The chef brought our king crab to us and showed us how to “crack” them, allthough she didn’t know she was teaching seasoned professionals 😂😂 it was obviously something helpful to slot of people and we happily watched. We shared a regular size clam chowder, it was warm with big meaty pieces of clams. With all ththe crab you get it was more then enough of the warm briny chowder to prepare us for the sweet warm and buttery crab. I had a small draft of an Alaskan beer I was disappointed in so I forgot the name and my fiancé had two glasses of lemons he said was really good. I forgot,to take pics when I was there last time, I’m taking some tomorrow and will, add ,y opinion on the dungys.... so far to me king is the king, but we will see how fresh live dumbness is........More
