This clam chowder is my absolute favorite - a family recipe and absolutely delicious and filled with lovely and luscious clam and some potatoes. The Dungeness crab was succulent and VERY tasty and prepared to perfection. The sides of corn fritters and cole slaw were a welcome addition and reasonably priced given the quality of the food. I would recommend this to anyone who considers themselves a connoisseur of chowder or crabs. An added feature is the lovely Halibut Point right outside your window.

We came in today via the Holland Cruise ship and noticed this place right on the dock. We went into town and did some exploring and afterwards we returned here to eat. The Dungess Crab was very fresh, sweet and delicious. The Clam Chowder was out if this world. To top it off they have the coldest beer we have had on over a week with chilled glasses which topped off a great meal. LOVED IT!!

A good friend insisted we have Dungeness Crab on our trip. When we got off the cruise ship in the morning we saw a tub of live crabs that they keep fresh until prepared. So we made it a point to come back after sightseeing for lunch. Not disappointed at all! Husband started with clam chowder and said it was excellent with big pieces of clams. The manager gave us a demonstration on how to crack the shells and retrieve the meat. A little bit of work but well worth it. We split one whole crab and it was plenty for the two of us.

Delicious Clam Chowder! Just what I was looking for! You’d think salmon & crab would be cheap in Sitka since it’s so plentiful. It’s not. It’s more expensive than it is in the lower 48. The chowder at Halibut was very good… a cup was $9.00 & a beer was $6.

Happy to hear that you enjoyed our food! We take pride in our local, sustainable, high quality seafood, and unfortunately, it is not always cheap for the consumer. We appreciate your business! (and just to clarify, our locally brewed draft beers are $9 beers for a pint, and bottles/cans are $6). Thank you!

We visited Halibut Point Crab and Chowder yesterday while on Radiance of the Seas. It used to be a tent, but the new facility is gorgeous. It was a limited menu on opening day but lots of delicious Alaskan beers on tap. We shared a halibut and chips order and it was the best meal of our cruise so far. Service was super friendly and welcoming and they had a good selection of hoodies, tees, etc. Highly recommend.

No need to go into town when the ship docks. Head right to Halibut Point. New building is big, has plenty of seats and bar. We sat at the bar. Had the clam chowder, best I have ever had! Dungeness Crab was super fresh, and the Halibut Fish and chips where perfectly cooked.

We ordered halibut fish and chips, salmon burger, crab cocktail and corn fritters. All was very good, except the salmon burger. They were a little skimpy on the salmon. Everything else was fresh, well prepared and tasty. Easy access from the main cruise terminal.

We went here after taking a wildlife and whale cruise as part of our cruise excursions. The fish and chips sampler with Halibut and lingcod was out of this world. My wife had the chowder and Caesar which was wonderful as well. Nice beer selection and location at the harbor made this an outstanding choice and it will be for you too!

My son and I decided to get something here before we went on our kayaking adventure. What a treat! My son and I had the salmon chowder in a bread bowl and it was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We ate while sitting outside and the views were a great addition to the experience.

Just OK. The crab chowder in a bread bowl was average an the bread bowl was burnt. The Cesar salad was tasty though. The prices were high but I guess you need to expect that at a cruise terminal. The service was good.

The best thing about this restaurant was the view and waitress Veronica. After reading the reviews, we opted to come back to the port to try the chowder and King crab. Disappointed to say that the King crab was dry, overcooked and bland. The chowder on the other hand was pretty good. Later we were told we should have ordered the Dungeness crab instead. Our bill was $115 with the tip around $140. Pricey for the quality of the lunch. Buyer beware and order what-is fresh and in season.

The fish and chips here was among the best I've had anywhere. Our server, Amy, was delightful. Only four stars as their hours seem to shift around the cruise ships coming in and out so we missed a second visit once the rest of our family go to town. Would highly recommend you try to get here, though!

I always seek out clam chowder when travelling, and the offering here is one of the best I have ever had. Remarkably thick chowder with loads of seafood - not one of those “potato” chowders sometimes found. A great add is the touch of Tabasco - not searingly hot, just enhances all the flavours. A split order of the corn fritters made for a seriously filling lunch! Highly recommended.

We ate here while being in port in Sitka. It's very conveniently located right at the port terminal in Sitka. We got a combo, which was King crab leg, a whole dungeness crab, chowder, and corn cakes. I also had a beer. It was plenty for three people to sample and enjoy.

After a day touring Sitka, our group decided to stop in for a drink and some knosh food before getting back on our ship. So glad we made this decision as the food was outstanding. The crab mac n' cheese could be the best I've had. Also, the fish tacos were delicious. This should be a stop for anyone before getting back to your ship.
