To start, I really enjoyed my dinner experience at this restaurant. I felt a little under dressed with how nice the placed looked when I first walked in. Everyone assured me that that didn't matter (lol). The menu was a little limited with the COVID...restrictions. I felt comfortable with how they had everything setup. My server was Patience. She was great. She helped me with all of my indecisions and her recommendations worked great for me. I had the french onion soup, beef tips, and chocolate cake. With the beef tips, they were able to put the normal sauce on the side and let me try the blackberry BBQ sauce on the side that was on the menu with another item. Both sauces were tasty. The blackberry BBQ sauce was great with everything! (I got a little side to take home/great w/pork chops too!). The decor in the restaurant and hotel lobby area was very nice.More

We came to Luray on our honeymoon and Circa '31 was our last hurrah, romantic dinner together before heading back home. Our server DeAwna made our night more than we could've asked for. The service was impeccable and her friendly yet professional conduct completely made...our night even more special. Melissa is who we talked to on the phone prior to arriving and if it wasn't for her phone presence we may not have come at all. But GOSH are we glad we did!! If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop by the Mimslyn Inn and check out Circa '31. You will be glad you did. If you're lucky and DeAwna is working that day, request her. You will be happily surprised at the level of service and care you'll receive while at the same time being left alone when it is prudent. Thank you to the entire staff at Circa '31 for making our last night of our honeymoon our most special.More

Felt so safe here during covid-19 Couldn't have been more aware of safety. The stuffed portabella was just great and the wild game meatloaf was the best ever tasted.

The COVID hybrid menu (part casual from downstairs, part upscale from the main restaurant), featured classic Southern ingredients with a gourmet twist. The pimento cheese dip with flecks of Virginia ham had the perfect amount of salt to be appetizing and satisfying as a spread...over crackers. Fried green tomatoes were perfectly crunchy with a spicy sauce. Mains (blackened fish, beef medallions) were average, slightly overcooked and oversauced. Great cocktails and the sunset view from the porch saved the dinner, as did the attentive service from Patience.More

Circa '31 is a classy, relaxing restaurant in Luray. The covid scare limits the dinner menu for some reason, but the entrees are varied enough for something to excite your palate. My meal was quite tasty. The service was excellent and the prices fair. My...only criticism and that's a harsh word is that so many tables were removed to accommodate the social distancing requirement that the place looked empty when it was pretty full given the reduced seating. Dinner should be a social affair.More

We had a great meal twice during our stay. The food was excellent and our server George was great! Definitely recommend visiting this place and ask for George who is friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu.

What a gorgeous setting! The new owners have invested a small -- hmmmm, a bit bigger than small -- fortune in restoring this grand hotel to its former elegance. Covid and well-earned popularity made it necessary for us to sit outside on the front balcony...overlooking the grounds. What a sacrifice! NOT! We felt positively regal and completely protected. As a beverage, we chose wine, and were taken aback by the prices. LOW! Being able to purchase a really good bottle of Washington State Syrah for $32 is, of late, absurd. And that set the tone, followed by a bowl of onion soup (mmmmm) and then the mains: I had a chacuterie plate and my wife had meat loaf, mashed taters, and gravy. The ice-cream and special coffee she had for dessert were outstanding. Service: Perfection. Thank you Sonny and Jim! You guys are a hard act to follow.More

The menus are limited due to Covid, but the dishes we had were fantastic! Dinner prices on the high side.

Lovely elegant meal ruined by poor seating with 7:30 reservation on a Monday evening. As a guest at the Inn, seated in the worst table at dining room front near the kitchen door, a heavy traffic pattern for servers, in and out of the kitchen...(clanging of kitchen activity), all guests arriving, and footpath to another dining room. Suggest you firmly object if you are seated there. Notwithstanding, service by George professional and pleasant. Virginia ham spread just alright. Wild game meatloaf interesting, red snapper with shrimp and grits superb, pumpkin cheesecake, light yet creamy. For fine dining, the choices seemed too limited.More

Food was excellent! Very reasonable prices. Beautiful dining room. And if you sit on the porch to eat, the view across the valley and the mountains is spectacular. Would highly recommend eating there

We visited the MAIN DINING ROOM at the Mimslyn Inn - not Circa 31 - and you would have to contact the Inn itself for information about their menu and accommodations of large groups. We visited there as a couple - and were... More
