The Food was good we didn't have to wait too long. Service was ok waited more than 8 minutes for extra tortillas and got charged extra $4 for 5 tortillas. Moment to pay the bill we pay with credit card and the restaurant charges technology...fee 3% for the credit card transactions but server who is the restaurant manager never bother to let us know that am extra fee will be charge and on top of that the technology fee is included in the total of the force 20% service charge fee the restaurant charged the guest (less than 6 people). I don't mind paying 20% for service when the service is good but it really bother me when I asked the restaurant manager why he included the credit card fee in the total to calculate his tip and his answer was opening his wallet to give me $5. It is not the money it is the principal of image restaurant having a $50k monthly sales will be a $1,500 in technology fee and 20% of tip of 300 to the server for something that cuatomer shouldn't be paying forMore

We have been to this restaurant a number of times, but loved it again this time and had to write a review. Guacamole made at your table if you want it, wonderful NM Mexican food...great service and great atmosphere. We highly recommend it

Definitely a must in Santa Fe! La Fogata is located in the Plaza area in a downstairs area. We dined at La Fogata on a Tuesday evening and had the pleasure of listening to strolling Mariachis - a perfect enhancement to the dining experience. The...restaurant has ambiance and delicious food that does not disappoint. We ordered the tableside guacamole, Mexican street corn and the shrimp ceviche; these were excellent choices especially the ceviche and corn. The carne asada with the green Mexican rice and black beans was scrumptious. The Chile en nogada was exceptional - probably the best I have ever had. It was reminiscent of the Chile en nogada found in Mexico City fine dining. The Jalapeño Margaritas and Piña Coladas were the icing on the cake as was the flan. Last but definitely not least was the exceptional service provided by Julio. His recommendations were on target and noteworthy. Julio made the dining experience exceptional at La Fogata. He is an asset to this establishment. La Fogata is a must stop in Santa Fe and if you do, ask for Julio.More

O.M.G. this place was PHENOMENAL! We're on vacay passing through and stumbled upon this gem. Service was great...but the food...the BEST. Every single item we got off the menu was amazing! Highly recommend! *still drooling*

I was meeting a friend for a premium show across the street at The Lensic Theater. There was a wait at the restaurant, and we had little over a hour before the show. The owner graciously seated us two. We had one of the best...meal ever. Chips and salsa. Fisherman's Stew which is a must try due to abundant shrimp, fish, mussels and calamari! Served with cilantro rice, hot fresh tortillas and onions and herbs. Absolutely delectable! One of their signature margarita cocktails was served in a piece of pottery. My Pina Colada was served in a full sized pineapple like they do in Latin and Caribbean locales! Please make a reservation and not miss this hidden jewel. It is a lot of fun and delightful to frequent. I have dined their 3 different times, and I was never disappointed. The prices are quite modest for the quality of their product. Don't hesitate, locals love La Fogata, and the location is very central to all the arts, shopping and bars!More

I have to agree with all the positive reviews of La Fogata Grill. Located only a block or so from the plaza, it can be a little hard to find, but you will be well rewarded for succeeding in your search. I wish we had...eaten at this restaurant instead of the far more expensive La Plazuela the night of our arrival in Santa Fe. Everything on the menu looked good, but my wife and I both had the beef barbicoa, which was excellent, both in terms of tastiness and presentation and well as in terms of quantity of food. Easily the best meal I had in Santa Fe (and the best house margarita as well). Great flan for dessert. And as noted by other reviewers, the prices are very moderate. So many reasons to patronize this place if you happen to be in downtown Santa Fe looking for a good meal at a reasonable price with no wait.More

Outstanding service from walk in to check out! Lunch at La Fogata was more than we expected. Guacamole prepared at the table and the plantains were so very good. House margaritas (frozen for my wife/on the rocks for me) we’re very good. Chips and salsa...not disappointing. Will definitely go back.More

This place was recommended for authentic NM food. The mole sauce in particular was highly recommended as a good example. So, we did take-out and took it back to our hotel. Spectacular mole enchiladas! And the Mexican street corn was great too.

This family owned restaurant was recommended by our hotel desk staff. And it was a great recommendation. They have been serving since 2015 and we (a party of three) shared several appetizers and house specialties. Our three appetizers: Queso Fundido (melted cheese, chorizo, rajas and...corn tortillas), Mexican Street Corn (grilled corn, butter, mayo, queso fresco and chile powder), and Platanos Fritos (fried plantains, cream, queso and black beans). Our two entrees: Fajitas (chicken peppers, onions, guacamole, rice, beans, and tortillas) and Taco Plate (beef, cilantro, rice and charro beans). Needless to say—we were stuffed. The restaurant is located on a lower level—so you will walk down several steps to entrance.More

We each ordered the taco plate & margarita. Good food. I asked about flan and she brought one that served both of us. DELICIOUS....firm and flavorable, not too sweet.

Do not go there if you don't want to risk ruining your night. I had a reservation for 16 people 2 days in advance with the owner, when we arrived the manager said they did not have any reservation and could not receive us. No...effort at all to call the owner or solve the situation. I don't know about the food but... who cares, there are many other places in town.More

Our first evening in SF, no reservations, and certainly not interested in long lines and $50 entrees that are typical in restaurants near the Plaza. We stumbled on La Fogata and what a pleasure it was. Yes, it had typical burritos and enchiladas, but also...really unusual stuff like Chile en Nogada. Prices reasonable—most expensive entree was $21. Service great. And as we were leaving, a mariachi band was warming up.More
