The three of us ordered 9 dishes: tomato soup special, beet/kale salad, special soup of the day, eggplant French fires, breaded fried artichokes, lamb kebab, tuna empanada, chicken with chili, stuffed pequillo pepper. The tuna empanada was my least favorite, it was only very good. The others were all excellent to outstanding. Highly recommend this place.

We went here for Tapas and entertainment and weren't disappointed at all. We weren't familiar with the Spanish vineyards and our server was extremely knowledgeable and made a wonderful recommendation. We discovered he'd worked there 6 years which says a lot about an establishment in that industry keeping good people around. It was a 2-pc ensemble that entertained that night... More

We tried El Meson for the first time on our latest trip to Santa Fe and were immediately favorably impressed when we arrived 45 minutes early for our dinner reservations and were worked in on a busy Saturday evening. The dining room is very attractive, with sturdy, rustic furniture and beautiful lights. We had cocktails, delicious salads and an outstanding... More

Excellent food, every dish was above average. Fish, Gazpacho, calamari, oyster mushrooms, lamb skewers and even kids meal well prepared. Food tasted light and felt not bloated afterwards. Thumbs up!

We were seated in the main dining room and had to strain to hear each other due to the loud background noise. Ordered a couple of sazerac cocktails, which the bartender said they could make. Not sure where the found a recipe but the waitress came back and asked if we wanted them on the rocks or not. Since a... More

In Spain over the years we fell in love with paella, especially lobster paella. The seafood paella at El Meson prepared especially by the owner/chef was superb...and maybe that's because his family is from Valencia, Spain where he learned how to prepare fine foods. Service was great. The sangria was delightfully different and the cava was excellent. After great paella... More

From making our reservations...to arriving...to eating...to listening to live music....this was a most excellent experience. All of the staff attending to us were very happy. The atmosphere is very alive and electric. The tappas and wine were suberb. This is our second visit and we will definitely be back again.

Arrived early to sit in the bar area for a dinner on my own. Only a couple of other table occupied at the time although all had reserved signs on them for 7:30. Gazpacho great start. Goat cheese, heirloom tomato and basil plated very nice. Thinly sliced ham and fig was a nice exploration but I expected a little more... More

If you are in Santa Fe on a Friday night you must go and hear the great jazz. Tapas is also delicious. Sit at bar if possible

This was a great find. I love the concept of tapas and this restaurant was as authentic as I’ve experienced. We didn’t recognize any of the wine so we asked our waiter for suggestions. He didn’t fail us. The lamb was especially good and we also had the jamon iberico. Additionally, we asked for some cheese to finish our wine... More
