La Choza was recommended to us by our hotel clerk when I asked for a good place where locals go for local cuisine. This is definitely a local favorite as the parking lot was full and there was a wait for dinner the two nights we visited. The atmosphere is fun. The food is "New Mexican" and is fresh and very... We had called to make a reservation and I'm glad we did as the place was packed and lots waiting. This is a locals restaurant that is on the other side of The Railyard district so if you are staying in town you would want to use Uber. It's also the sister to The Shed but less expensive and more... More

We arrived without a reservation and the restaurant was packed, but it had a fun Happy Friday night feel to it. We ate in the bar, drinking excellent Margaritas while we waited. It was our first introduction to green and red chile and I loved the heat. One of our best meals during our recent road trip through the Southwest.

We always try to return to special places on each visit to Santa Fe and La Choza is one of our favorites. Besides the fact they serve warm sopapillas and honey along with every meal, their green chile always makes us exceptionally happy. Reasonable prices and great food abound. Just be sure to arrive early as they don't take reservations... More

I'm a no-meat eater. The veggie quesadilla is very good...green chili on the side. They do a really tasty chile relleno with Hatch chiles (I think) and a delicate breading. Excellent house margarita. Reservations in the evening are available and advisable. Lunch is first come..., and eleven AM is not too early. Ask about garlic bread, you might get some.... More

We make a point of arranging our trips around being able to eat at La Choza. We arrived for a bit later lunch 1:45 and only had to wait about 10 minutes. Keep in mind that they close at 2:30 and then open again at 5pm. We ate on the patio with the NM sun shining down. Everything was delicious... More

We checked out Trip Advisor and this restaurant had great reviews. It was easy to find so we gave it a try. The entire experience was amazing. We had not reserved so waited at the bar for a table. That turned out to be the best decision of the night. We chatted with locals and the bartender and had a... More

There are restaurants for tourists and restaurants for locals. Very few appeal to both. La Choza is among the best New Mexican restaurants in Santa Fe. The food is consistently good. Service is good. Prices are reasonable. Their margaritas are excellent... not the 'tourist margaritas' that taste like they toss a shot of tequila into a glass of lemonade... La... More

We tried to get into the sister restaurant for 2 nights then found this. We waited only about 40 minutes and were seated outside covered by a tent. It was very nice atmosphere and a little quieter than inside. We both had a hard time deciding on a meal. Their carne adovado was spectacular. I would order that again. Their... More
