We read online reviews and decided to try La Choza. We wanted authentic New Mexican cousine. We waited about 20 minutes for a table. There were seversl empty tables in the room we were seated. Wait staff took our orders, food was produced quickly on very hot plates. The food was good, not great. Portions a little under average size,... More

The sopapillas were so good I could eat them every day! My chicken taquitos was the only disappointment--a bit dry. Enchiladas and tacos were good. Warning--spicy!

If I could five this place a 4.5, I would. My boyfriend and I both got the pork adovada enchiladas. They were flavorful and had a decent kick (spice). The sopapillas (which come with the meal, unless you want garlic bread) were amazing. The best I've ever had. I would return just for those. We arrived at 5pm on a... More

We arrived early at around 5:00 pm on a Monday evening so parking in the adjacent lot was open and seating was quick. The restaurant was full by 5:30 with a line waiting to be seated. You can actually order a nice classic margarita with no frills and they do a good job of it. Staff was friendly (more so... More

So many choices, definitely something for everyone. The green chili con carne was so flvorful and rich. I like going somewhere away from all the tourists with good quality New Mexican food. We loved it!

Just had lunch here today with friends, super-excellent enchiladas with red sauce! Hot! Deeply rich and flavorful! We ate in the "tent" which was quieter than the main dining room, perfectly comfortable and warm even though it was cool outside. Waitstaff was professional and friendly, hostess the same; my husband had an amber ale which was delicious. Were planning on... More

Last visit to Santa Fe I said this restaurant had the best green chili stew. Well that still held true 'tis time around. My wife also loved the Posole. Great flavors, great service, can't recommend any more highly!

If you're in New Mexico for the first time, this is not Mexican food, but New Mexican food, a very different palate. La Choza is one of the best restaurants for experiencing New Mexican food. Be careful, though, it can be hot chile for the uninitiated!

This is the sister restaurant of the very popular: The Shed. I was in town with a friend and she said we had to go because she dreams about the chicken enchiladas. OK! I'm in. The wait was over an hour but they have a bar and bar tables to make the wait not so bad. House margarita was very... More
