This is one of our go-to spots in Santa Fe. The service and quality of food have always been first rate. It’s located up Canyon Road among the art galleries there, and the outdoor seating option (weather permitting) offers an extra dose of ambiance. There’s also a separate bar area where they sometimes have live music/dance performances.

Each time we visit canyon road, El Farol is our refueling place. We love the tapas style tastings of their chefs selections, and it's great for people watching. The wait staff is knowledgeable and often show a good send of humor. Finally, we took in an excellent dinner and Flamenco music and dancing show the same evening- sitting stage side... More

Very pleasant. Went for lunch. Service was very friendly. Outdoor seating on the porch in front was very pleasant. Food was good but not exceptional. Tables and chairs a little spartan. Portions were adequate for lunch but not large. As others have noted service was a little slow; but we wanted the time to enjoy the afternoon, people watch, and... More

Nothing fancy here-- but everything is tasty and good. Nice bar area and often live entertainment. Nice place to stop for a drink after looking at the art on Canyon Road.

We had ensalada del momento, southwestern chicken corn chowder as our first course. Gambas al ajillo and pincho de carne for our second course. Desert was tres angelitos to finish. Yum, and Daniel provided great service. The weather was nice so we sat outside. A must stop when your on Canyon Road.

My husband and I have enjoyed lunch at El Farol for at least ten years. Yesterday was the only bad experience we have had. It shouldn't take 20 minutes to get a glass of iced tea. We waited an hour for our three tapas to arrive, and they were cold when served. Apparently our waitress was preoccupied with a larger... More

Victoria and I walk by El Farol everyday during our walks down Canyon Road. It always looks intriguing so one Sunday recently, we had lunch there and were seated on the patio in the back of the restaurant where Flamenco dancing can be seen each week. A very lovely and sunny spot to have lunch. Service was a little slow... More

We came for lunch on a Friday on a July afternoon after taking in the studios on Canyon Road. There is outdoor seating but it was starting to really warm up and we wanted to be in some A/C while we ate. We ordered Pisco Sours and they were refreshing. I ordered the cold tapas plate and really enjoyed it.... More

Not very family friendly as far as food choices. Our kids got their tacos quickly and they said they were very good. Then my husband's food came second. He said the enchilada was very good, but a little spicy. My daughter and I waited another 3-4 minutes for our food. My buffalo burger was good, very good. And her steak... More

A friend and I were in town for a conference and had 2 locals recommend El Farol to us. We chose to go the tapas route and were not disappointed. The food was amazing. The service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry so it just allowed us to talk longer.
