After reading some of the reviews about El Farol, my wife and I decided to go there one evening early while in Santa Fe and sample the tapas. The place was empty and I later learned that many people come in later to hear the music. Unfortunately, we were there for the food, and it was a disappointment. The servings... More

El Farol means “warmth” and “light” Go there on a Tuesday night when they have their Blues Jam and the place will be rocking. Best to make a reservation 505.983.9912 Small and cozy restaurant, be prepared to be close to other people while you eat and dance. Delicious food, super staff. Have a ton of fun and dance up a... We have a lot of family in the area so we go to Santa Fe fairly frequently. El Farol is a 'must stop' location for me. Love their tapas! When the weather is nice, we can spend the whole day on the porch people watching, drinking wine and eating an assortment of tapas. I'm particularly fond of the parmesan crusted... More

The atmosphere was casual and comfortable. The selection of small plates was good but we found the serving sizes to be rather small for the price being charged. Still and enjoyable evening

It is such fun to go with friends to El Farol. Lovely to eat outside overlooking Canyon Road. My favorite tapas are the fried avocado and the padrone peppers. After that, we just have an adventure. The margaritas are good, too.

This is a quaint little restaurant. There are not many menu selections but they are diverse. Wonderful wine list and tapas. Kind of expensive for what you get. Also I expected Mexican food but the menu consisted of pasta, scallops, chicken, etc. food was good and service was also. We did not pay the additional 25.00 each for the Flaminco... More

We had heard and read good things about this. We dined for lunch and the restaurant was empty. The server was very nice and attentive. We ordered three tapas- artichoke, avocado and pork tenderloin. The first two listed were very good. The pork was good quality meat but bland- seemed like it was just thrown in a pan with no... More

We celebrated my niece's birthday at El Farol based on a review she had read in a travel magazine. We were not disappointed! Our reservation was for dinner at 6:30, followed by the Flamenco performance at 8:00. The menu is primarily Spanish tapas (or small plates), along with eight or nine full dinners. We began our meal by sharing the... More

El Farol is a Canyon Road staple. The food is great and the atmosphere is always fun and lively. On this trip we stopped for a quick lunch which was so delicious, we wished we'd gone there for a more leisurely, full dinner! Their Santa Fe style corn chowder is the best corn chowder of any kind we've ever had,... More

Located at Canyon Road this restaurant seems very relaxed. Nice menu, tapas or mains. At nine the band comes in and the atmosphere starts to buzzle.
