My husband and met family here for lunch, just after we arrived in town. My nephew, who is local and a good chef himself, advised us that they had the best green chili cheeseburgers in town, and that they were huge. As a result, my husband and I split one since the family was having an early dinner. They were... More

The Bite has been around for many, many years. Food is quite good, it's served promptly and is reasonably priced. There is a great chopped salad that can be had with grilled chicken; their burgers are delicious, soups are good.

We were at the plaza watching the Bandstand concert series and wanted to get a quick bite. I looked The Bite up on TripAdvisor and it was well rated. It was about a three-block walk from the Plaza. My husband had the steak sandwich and I had a healthy vegetable salad. Both were good. The only caveat was the manager... More

Based on a tip from a fellow traveler, I got the green chili cheeseburger (it's huge) and a vanilla milkshake. When I went back and got another green chili cheeseburger, I substituted onion rings for the homemade potato chips. That time I did not have room for the milkshake. The service is very good, and they even offered me a... More

Sunday night and the place was hopping. We had green chile cheese burgers and the half sandwich with salad and cup of soup. The soup on Sundays is posole. It was just what I wanted - lots of hominy and a slightly spicy red broth. Great sandwiches all around. The burgers are cooked to order. Great retro atmosphere and excellent... More

Food is stellar but atmosphere is not. We are always surprised that the indoor atmosphere is so loud and the lighting uncomfortable. It nearly balances out the great burgers, but not quite. Burgers are amazing.

I frequent this place because of the outdoor patio that allows dogs. I love weekend breakfasts here and everyone I take becomes a regular as well. The corn meal pancakes are the best, and good bacon.

Food was AWESOME and the service was amazing . The only negative was the chairs. They were extremely uncomfortable. Glad we went but unsure if we'd go back. If we did we'd wait for a booth.

We remember when they were on Old Las Vegas Hiway. The food is still fabulous and there are more choices. Burgers are fantastic. If you opt for one of the alternative side choices, make sure you still get the chips that come with the burgers. They cannot be beat!

Thank Raphjh

The Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers are back! John and Bonnie Eckre, formerly of Bobcat Bite, are taking their food to the next level at the new Santa Fe Bite located inside Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail. In addition to their savory Green Chile Cheeseburgers, Santa Fe Bite features fresh tacos, fish and chips, sandwiches, a choice of French or sweet potato fries and a little something they like to call 'The Big Bite' that comes with a side of buttery garlic bread. Creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonade are just some of the sweet treats popping up on their new menu. Also, we are now serving beer and wine. Santa Fe Bite opens at 8am Saturday and Sunday which means early birds can sample tasty Breakfast menu offerings like hot cornmeal pancakes with maple syrup, brioche French toast with maple caramel sauce and house-made biscuits with Mom's gravy. Spend a leisurely Sunday outside at Santa Fe Bite. The new Brunch menu includes eggs benedict, Steak & Eggs and Huevos Rancheros.
